LaDazhia came to LSU for one year as a grad transfer from Missouri and made a huge impact in the tournament. Alexis was the only returning player on the roster this past season and has had one of the most remarkable journey's in college basketball. LSU has now had 22 players drafted into the WNBA.
🔼 Champs Are Comin' To Town. Not only is Oklahoma the No. 1 team in college softball, but they're also back-to-back national champions and an overall powerhouse. LSU and Oklahoma will be going at it tonight in Tiger Park for the final midweek home game of the season, and it's sure to be a packed one. The first 500 fans will get a free LSU Softball shirt.
These two have not met since the 2016 Women's College World Series, where Oklahoma won 7-3. The teams are tied 8-8 in matchups with each other. Oklahoma has only lost one game this season and that was to Baylor back in February. The Sooners lead the NCAA with a .380 batting average and rank No. 2 with a 0.91 ERA.
LSU's bats will have to be ready to do damage early in this one. Danieca Coffey holds the best batting average in the SEC with a .442. The Tigers pitching staff will also have to be on their A game tonight. The fun starts at 6:00pm.
🔼 No. 1 Goes To NOLA. After going 2-3 last week, LSU baseball remains the unanimous No. 1 throughout the rankings. The Tigers are also No. 1 in the nation in shutouts pitched (7). Paul Skenes leads in strikeouts (91), strikeouts per 9 innings (17.30), hits allowed per 9 innings (3.99), and WHIP (0.61). There's no question how this trio made the Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List.
LSU will head to New Orleans tonight to take on the Tulane Green Wave. Tulane is currently 9-23 overall and on a two-game losing streak after dropping games to USF. The Brady Bunch of the Green Wave (Brady Marget and Brady Hebert) lead the team in batting averages with .301 and .294, respectively. Expect the Tigers to have a great day at the dish, Tulane pitchers average 6.40 earned runs per game. The Tigers play tonight at 6:00pm.
🔼 Keeping Track. The LSU women's track and field squad moved up to No. 2 in the USTFCCCA rankings this week after having an incredible weekend. The men's group remained at No. 5.
