🔼 All-American Girls. The Preseason AP Women’s Basketball All-American Team was released yesterday and a few Tigers got some honors. Angel Reese was named All-American while Aneesah Morrow and Hailey Van Lith received honorable mention accolades. Angel was a unanimous First-Team All-American last season. The Tigers will play a free exhibition game in the PMAC on Thursday night against East Texas Baptist.

🔼 Vote, Vote, Vote. Former Tiger track & field star Sha’Carri Richardson is nominated for the Jackie-Jouner Kersee Female Athlete of the Year Award and the World Championships Track Performer Wing Award! She won the World Championships 100 with her world-leading 10.65 time, she anchored the US 4×100 gold team, placed third in the 200, and won the USATF Outdoor 100.

Former Tiger JuVaughn Harrison is nominated for the Jesse Owens Male Athlete of the Year Award! He earned world silver in the high jump, won the USATF Outdoor title, and placed third in the long jump. He also had three Diamond League wins.

🔼  Pro Tigers. There are nine former Tigers on six different NBA teams as the season tips off. Javonte Smart is playing for the Philadelphia 76ers while Skylar Mays and Duop Reath play for the Portland Trailblazers on two-way contracts. Garrett Temple is playing with the Toronto Raptors, he’s played 716 career-games. Naz Reid plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves after signing a three-year extension. Tari Eason continues his stint with the Houston Rockets after a solid rookie season. The Brooklyn Nets have a trio of former Tigers with Ben Simmons, Cam Thomas, and Trendon Watford.
