🔼 Watch It. Two Tigers landed on the Maxwell Award preseason watch list, presented to the best player in college football. Senior quarterback Jayden Daniels and junior wide receiver Malik Nabers found themselves on the list for the award that former Tiger Joe Burrow won back in 2019. The pair also made the media’s preseason All-SEC First Team.
🔼 For The USA. LSU swimmer Mitch Mason was selected to represent the United States on the LEN U23 Championship team. The meet will be held August 11-13 in Dublin, Ireland. Mitch is a 2x NCAA qualifier and was a member of the All-SEC Freshman Team in the 2020-21 season. He will be going into his senior season this year.
🔼 Hailey Van Swish. Team USA and Hailey Van Lith secured the FIBA 3×3 U23 Nations League Americas Conference Championship after about a week of play in Chile. The league final will be held September 13-15 in Mongolia. This is her second big FIBA 3×3 win this summer, she won the World Cup in June.
🔼 Winners’ Mentality. LSU softball signed Oklahoma State transfer Tatum Clopton to the bullpen. She has seen the Women’s College World Series twice at OSU. She took a medical redshirt this past season due to an injury, but made six appearance in her freshman season. She was a two-time Kansas Gatorade Player of the Year in high school. Welcome to Baton Rouge, Tatum!
