Play by Play. Legendary women’s basketball associate head coach Bob Starkey joins Play by Play this week. They recap the National Championship season and discuss his return to Baton Rouge and coaching with Kim Mulkey. You don’t want to miss it, so tune in here!

🔼 And The Mikey Award Goes To. The Mikey Award Show was held over the weekend and we have all the highlights for you. Volleyball’s Samarah Hill won the Eye of the Tiger Award after overcoming two season-ending injuries and returning to help lead the Tigers to the NCAA Tournament. LSU gymnastics won the Tiger Cup for having the highest total achievement in academics, community service, and competition. You can see all of the award winners here.

🔼 Tigers In The Top-Ten. The women’s tennis team is showing out in the rankings this week and logging career highs! The duo of Anastasiya Komar and Kylie Collins landed in 6th in the ITA doubles ranking. Anastasiya moved up to 10th in the singles ranking. Kylie moved to No. 39 and the team came in at No. 43. The men’s team earned 33rd and the duo of Ronald Hohmann and Nick Watson are 36th in the doubles ranking.

🔼 Midweek Madness. There was midweek drama all across the SEC last night, including in Baton Rouge. Nicholls took the Tigers 6-5 in a hard fought battle. The Tigers and the Colonels went back and forth, but the Colonel defense was not allowing much. Jared Jones hit a solo home run in the ninth to bring the Tigers within one, but it was not enough. The Tigers host Alabama this weekend.

🔼 Nationally Known. This week’s USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week and SEC Runner of the Week is none other than Godson Oghenebrume. He ran the second fastest 100m time in the nation last weekend with a 9.97 time. It’s the fastest all-conditions time among Nigerians and third fastest for Africa. He beat out a crowd of Olympians and World Championship runners.

Bayou Traditions raises funds to provide Name, Image & Likeness (NIL) opportunities to LSU student-athletes—making NIL deals more accessible and sustainable and allowing student-athletes to gain finance and business experience without compromising their focus on studies and sports.

NIL is a competitive space and now influences where an athlete attends college.We need the Tiger community to join us and keep LSU at the forefront of NIL!
