Tigers Win. It's almost time for another season at Tiger Park! Listen as Coach Beth Torina sits down with Chris Blair to preview the upcoming 2025 season before LSU takes the field on February 7th for the opener against Charlotte.
🔼 Bounce Back. After falling to No. 2 South Carolina 66-56 on Friday, the fifth-ranked women’s basketball turned around quickly to beat Texas A&M 64-51 on Sunday. Flau’Jae Johnson led the Tigers with 22 points and five rebounds. Aneesah Morrow recorded her 1,000th career point in an LSU uniform and finished the game with 19. She climbed into the top-10 in NCAA DI history for career rebounds with a total of 1,538.
🔼 Successful Senior Day. The swim & dive team picked up four total dual meet wins on Saturday! The women’s team defeated Cincinnati 192.50-101.50 and Delta State 218-72. The men’s team defeated Cincinnati 186-110 and Delta State 215-74. The Tigers honored 16 seniors before the meet! LSU won the first eight events and dominated the diving events, with multiple divers placing in the top four on both the one-meter and three-meter springboards. Diving wins came from Montserrat Gutierrez Lavenant, Carson Paul, and Zayne Danielewicz.
🔼 Survive & Advance. The 22nd-ranked women’s tennis team defeated No. 19 Florida 4-1 to advance to the program’s first ITA National Women’s Indoor Championship since 2019! The Tigers improved to 4-0 on the season. The ITA National Women’s Indoor Championship will run February 6-10.
🔼 Heck Of An Effort. The men’s basketball team stuck with No. 4 Alabama until the end of Saturday’s 80-73 loss on the road. Jordan Sears led the Tigers with 21 points and six assists. He has made all 28 of his free throws in SEC play this season. Corey Chest was strong at the rim, scoring 12 points and grabbing 18 rebounds. They’ll host No. 1 Auburn on Wednesday.
🔼 RC Returns. The second “Planting Seeds of Hope” event, hosted by former Tiger and current ESPN celebrity Ryan Clark, will be held at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on February 12th at 6 p.m. The event, focusing on mental health awareness, will feature a panel discussion and a tabling event with mental health resources. Panelists include DJ Chark, Emma Benoit, Dr. Ray Tucker, and Sherrard Crespo. The first 1,000 attendees will receive free Raising Canes, courtesy of the Joe Burrow Foundation.
