Good morning, Tigers. LSU blanked No. 16 Mississippi State 31-0 on Saturday, the Tigers’ first home shutout of an SEC opponent since 2006. Sam Leavitt was surgical, going 31-of-38 for 289 yards and four touchdowns, including two to Jackson Harris, while the defense stuffed the Bulldogs on four consecutive fourth-down tries.

LSU, ranked No. 17 in the Coaches Poll and No. 18 in the AP Poll, heads to Auburn next Saturday for an 11 a.m. CT kick on either ABC or ESPN.

⛳ Personal Bests All Around
👟 Top of the Mountain
🐯 And so much more!

🔼 Twice From Behind. LSU soccer dug out of an early 2-0 hole and then a late 3-2 deficit to stun Texas A&M 4-3 yesterday afternoon at Ellis Field, with Ava Amsden converting a 90th-minute penalty kick for the Tigers’ first lead of the afternoon. Amy Smith scored twice, her first two goals of the season, Sariyah Bailey added the equalizer in the 68th minute, and Ava Galligan set up two of the four goals as LSU outshot the Aggies 21-13. The Tigers close the regular season at home against Mississippi State next Sunday, Oct. 25, at 2 p.m. CT on SEC Network, with seniors honored before kickoff.

🔼 Personal Bests All Around. LSU’s Edna Chepkemoi and Abigael Chemnagei went back-to-back in the top 10 at the Arturo Barrios Invitational, finishing ninth and 10th in the 6k with personal-best times that rank them as the third- and fourth-fastest Tigers this century. Their showing powered the women to an eighth-place team finish in College Station, with sophomore Micaela Villarreal also cracking the top 50. The Tigers now turn to the SEC Championships on Friday, Oct. 30, in Missouri.

🔼 Top of the Mountain. D1 Baseball has named LSU the No. 1 college program in the nation, the second straight time the Tigers have topped the list after also earning the spot in 2024. The ranking rewards sustained postseason success over the last five years, and Jay Johnson has delivered two College World Series titles, a 26-7 NCAA Tournament record, and 28 top-10-round MLB Draft picks in five seasons. The 2027 Tigers are already in fall practice and open the regular season Feb. 19 against Long Island at The Box.

🔼 In Focus: Princewill Umanmielen. LSU edge rusher Princewill Umanmielen arrived in Baton Rouge by way of Manor High School in Texas, Nebraska, and Ole Miss, and each stop sharpened the player who sat second in the SEC with 8.0 sacks prior to the Mississippi State game. His brother Princely, a linebacker for the Carolina Panthers, trades tips with him regularly, but Princewill is clear that the path he’s on is his own. His teammates see the competitor on the field and the guy who keeps things light off it, and we’re glad he’s wearing purple and gold.

🔼 In Focus: Trey’Dez Green. Trey’Dez Green is the newest Tiger to earn LSU’s No. 7 jersey, and the 6-foot-7 Zachary native got there with a basketball-honed game and a mindset he sums up as “All In.” Behind the signature smile is a mother who barely missed a game while going through chemotherapy, a daughter named Rian who now calls her “Gigi,” and a love for football Green says didn’t fully arrive until he walked down Victory Hill. He’s the player opposing coaches lose sleep over and the teammate everyone wants to get behind, and we can’t think of a better fit for No. 7.

🔼 Historic Milestone. LSU honored the 1976 SEC Championship tennis team before kickoff of Saturday’s homecoming game!

🔼 Meet the Staff. LSU women’s basketball’s “Get To Know The Show” series continues with assistant coach Fitzroy Anthony.
