🎥 LSU+: THE HURRY UP

The Hurry Up: Corey Barber Jr. Recaps Career Night vs. McNeese

Receiver Corey Barber Jr. led the team with seven catches and two touchdowns. He joins Gordy Rush immediately following LSU's 63-14 win over McNeese on the latest edition of The Hurry Up.

🔼 Everybody Eats. No. 11 LSU rolled up 731 yards of total offense in a 63-14 demolition of McNeese, and the touchdowns came from everywhere. Five different Tigers scored on the ground, including freshman defensive tackle Deuce Geralds, who took a direct snap one yard into the end zone. Sam Leavitt went 18-of-23 for 176 yards and three scores, two to Corey Barber Jr., while Harlem Berry ran for a career-high 125 yards and Stacy Gage broke off touchdown runs of 46 and 39 yards. Princewill Umanmielen notched his FBS-leading eighth sack.

LSU heads to Lexington on Saturday for a 6 p.m. CT kick on ESPN.

🔼 Comeback In The Swamp. LSU soccer went into Gainesville, fell behind in the 22nd minute, and walked out with a 2-1 win over Florida. Ava Galligan did all the damage, equalizing in the 29th off a Linka Ono feed and then burying the winner in the 52nd on an assist from Sariyah Bailey. Audur Scheving held up under heavy pressure down the stretch, making seven saves, with six of them in the second half, as the Tigers blanked the Gators over the final 45 minutes. LSU returns home Friday to host Arkansas at 7 p.m. CT.

🔼 Fifth-Set Finish. LSU volleyball dropped the opener, clawed back to take the second and third, then held off Missouri in a deciding fifth set for a 3-2 win at the Maravich Center. Jurnee Robinson nearly had a triple-double, posting 23 kills, a season-high 16 digs, and a career-best-tying seven blocks for 26.5 points. She also passed LSU legend Monique Adams to move into ninth in program history with 1,825.5 career points. Lauren Brooker added 50 assists and 12 digs while crossing 1,500 career assists, and Sanaa Donaie matched her career high with eight blocks. The Tigers head to No. 3 Kentucky on Friday.

🔼 Family Business. Winston Watkins Jr. followed Lane Kiffin from Oxford to Baton Rouge, and the sophomore receiver has already made himself at home with 23 catches for 354 yards and two touchdowns. Football runs deep in the Fort Myers native's family; cousins Austin, Jaylen, and Sammy Watkins all have NFL ties, which made the season opener against Clemson especially personal, since Sammy played there before winning a Super Bowl with Kansas City. Watkins says he's focused on growing into a leader for the Tigers while representing the kids back home in Fort Myers.

🔼 He Wants The Smoke. Ty Benefield has a theory about how he plays: beat him on a snap and he comes back harder. The senior safety transferred to LSU this winter after three years at Boise State, where he piled up 235 tackles, five interceptions, and a Mountain West Championship Game MVP nod. The California native by way of Vancouver grew up in a fiercely competitive household; his father Daved spent 13 CFL seasons and once set a league record with five sacks in a game, and his sister plays volleyball at Washington. He picked Baton Rouge over several options with one goal: becoming the next defensive back people call a legend at DBU.

🔼 Three In The Top 10. LSU was the only team at the Paul Short Run to put multiple runners in the top 10, and the Tigers managed three. Edna Chepkemoi led the way with a 6k personal-best 19:51.9 to finish second overall, trimming nearly five seconds off her previous mark. Fellow sophomores Abigael Chemnagei and Micaela Villarreal followed in third and seventh. LSU placed seventh as a team. The men's 8k and the remaining races were canceled due to heat. The Tigers head west next for the Arturo Barrios Invitational on Oct. 16.

🔼 Sand Season Ahead. LSU beach volleyball opens its fall slate Oct. 9-11 in Kenner, Louisiana, the first of three team competitions plus a pairs championship as the Tigers prepare for their 14th season. A trip to Houston follows Oct. 16-17, with the final team event coming home to the LSU Beach Volleyball Facility Oct. 31-Nov. 1. The roster features 11 returners alongside two freshmen and four transfers. LSU's top pairs close out the fall at the AVCA Pairs Championship in Huntsville, Alabama, Nov. 6-8.

🔼 He’s A Champ. Congratulations to LSU men’s tennis’ Stefan Latinovic, who lost just one set as he won his third ATP Challenger 125 event over the last two months.
