Tigers Win: Introducing Fitzroy Anthony and Murriel Page, LSU Women's Basketball Assistant Coaches

Get to know new LSU women's basketball assistant coaches Fitzroy Anthony and Murriel Page on the latest edition of Tigers Win, hosted by Kent Lowe. Anthony joins the Tiger coaching staff after spending 11 seasons at the University of Miami as an assistant coach since 2015. Page brings a decorated career as a student-athlete, professional player and coach to LSU, having played in the WNBA for 11 seasons before beginning her collegiate coaching career in 2010.

🔼 National Nod. Vernon Hamilton and Damon Stoudamire have both been named to the 2026 Silver Waves Media Most Impactful/Influential High Major Assistant Coaches list, one of the more prestigious honors in college basketball. Over 50 past honorees have become head coaches in the last seven years. Hamilton is in his second stint at LSU, having also spent 2020-22 on Will Wade's staff before following him to McNeese and NC State. Stoudamire brings 13 NBA seasons and head coaching stops at Pacific and Georgia Tech to the bench. Both will take part in a special Silver Waves networking event at the NCAA Final Four.

🔼 Tip Times Set. LSU men's basketball now has dates, times, and TV assignments locked in for the 2026-27 season, covering all 18 SEC games and nearly the full non-conference slate across a 32-game regular season. The Tigers open Nov. 3 against LSU New Orleans, then face a November gauntlet that includes a trip to Gonzaga in Spokane and back-to-back neutral-site games against Arizona State and SMU in Palm Desert, California. December brings Wake Forest in the SEC-ACC Challenge and a matchup with Houston at Toyota Center on ESPN. Season tickets, single game non-conference tickets, and SEC mini-plans are on sale now at LSUTix.net.

🔼 Hall Of Fame Tiger. Former LSU volleyball standout Julie Stempel Ibieta has been named a 2026 inductee to the National High School Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame. The middle blocker was LSU's first SEC Freshman of the Year in 1988 and set marks from 1988-1991 that still stand more than 30 years later, ranking second all-time in career total blocks with 652 and sixth in career points. She helped lead the Tigers to back-to-back NCAA Final Four appearances in 1990 and 1991 before building a coaching career that includes 16 state titles at Metairie Park Country Day School. The purple and gold connection continues through her son Jake, a redshirt junior linebacker at LSU.
