The Hurry Up: QB Michael Van Buren Talks First Start & Win Over Arkansas

Quarterback Michael Van Buren Jr. went 21-for-31 with 221 yards passing and a touchdown to lead LSU over Arkansas, 23-22, on Saturday afternoon in Tiger Stadium, marking the ninth time in the last 10 years that the Tigers have claimed the Golden Boot. He joins Gordy Rush for another victorious edition of The Hurry Up.

Quarterback Michael Van Buren Jr. went 21-for-31 with 221 yards passing and a touchdown to lead LSU over Arkansas, 23-22, on Saturday afternoon in Tiger Stadium, marking the ninth time in the last 10 years that the Tigers have claimed The Golden Boot.

🔼 Keep Rolling. LSU women’s hoops continued its hot start to the season, picking up a 101-71 win over Tulane last night. The Tigers are now 5-0 to start the season. Flau’jae Johnson led LSU in scoring with 22 points, while MiLaysia Fulwiley (22), Mikaylah Williams (16), ZaKiyah Johnson (14), and Amiya Joyner (12) all finished in double figures.

The Tigers will be on the court next on Thursday, Nov. 20, against Alcorn State at 7 p.m. at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

🔼 Player of the Week. LSU’s Damian Ramos earned SEC Special Teams Player of the Week honors after nailing three first half field goals on Saturday. Ramos made kicks of 50, 42, and 42 yards in the second quarter and now holds the LSU career record for field goals (65), total points (390), and points by kicking (390). He’s second in program history with 195 extra points, needing just seven more to tie the school record.

🔼 Conference Standouts. LSU men’s basketball’s hot start to the season has them at the top of the conference in a number of categories, including field goal percentage (54.2%), free throw percentage (80.2%), and scoring margin (29.4). The squad will take on Alcorn State tomorrow at 7 p.m. Tickets available here.

🔼 Start Time. LSU football will kick off against Oklahoma at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29 on ABC or ESPN. You can check out the full SEC slate for Nov. 28 and Nov. 29 here.

🔼 Mark Your Calendars. LSU gymnastics’ TV schedule is set! The squad will air across ESPN networks eight times during the 2026 season. The premiere TV matchup of the season will come when defending NCAA Champion Oklahoma squares off against the back-to-back SEC Champion Tigers on Feb. 20. Full details here.

🔼 Dive In. No. 11/13 LSU swimming and diving is in Athens, competing at the Georgia Invitational today through Nov. 21. The Tigers will take on Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Florida State, and Georgia Tech over the next four days. The meet can be streamed on SECN+.
