The Real Deal: Trace Young

Former LSU Men's Basketball player and social media influencer Trace Young returned to campus last week to speak with student-athletes about his latest venture, The 99 Network, a company that helps college athletes build their brands, both on and off the field, to secure NIL partnerships. Young joined the latest episode of The Real Deal to give listeners more information.

🔼 First Round. No. 2 LSU men’s golf opened the Puerto Rico Classic in third place at 14-under after losing star Árni Sveinsson to illness, forcing freshman Hudson Lawson into the lineup on short notice. Junior Noah McWilliams carried the Tigers with a blistering six-under 66 that has him tied for second individually, firing seven birdies at Grand Reserve Golf Course. Lawson delivered admirably in his LSU debut with a two-under 70, while Dan Hayes and Jay Mendell both posted three-under 69s to keep the Tigers within striking distance of top-ranked Virginia (-22) and Ohio State (-21).

🔼 Game Day. The Tigers welcome Arkansas to the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on Tuesday night (8 p.m., LSU Sports Radio Network) looking to avenge a recent 85-81 loss in Fayetteville on Jan. 24. Darius Acuff torched LSU with 24 second-half points in that game, finishing with 31 on 10-of-11 shooting after halftime, while Max Mackinnon leads the Tigers into the rematch fresh off a 26-point, 10-for-10 free-throw performance against Georgia. LSU has won the last three meetings in Baton Rouge and holds a 22-13 edge in the series at home.

Your YETI Game Changer of the Week is the LSU softball pitcher Tatum Clopton!

Against Lamar in the 2026 Tiger Classic this weekend, Clopton (2-0) retired her first five batters of the game and ultimately retired 12 of the 13 batters she faced. Clopton earned the win after striking out three batters and surrendering only one hit in 4.0 innings. In 8.2 innings pitched over two appearances this weekend, Clopton had nine strikeouts and gave up two hits and two walks, holding opposing batters to a .074 average.
