Gold Standard with Bill Franques. Introducing Gold Standard: an LSU Baseball podcast with Bill Franques, the Voice of Alex Box Stadium. This show will feature interviews with coaches, players, and staff, as well as former players and broadcasters from around the sport. As the Tigers gear up to open the season on Friday afternoon, Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator Josh Jordan returns to the studio to be the first-ever guest.

The YETI Game Changer of the Week is softball pitcher Jayden Heavener! She threw a perfect game in the season opener against Charlotte on Friday. She became the first player to accomplish the feat in her collegiate debut in program history and the sixth Tiger to do it overall. She struck out 13 batters in the 8-0 win. Heavener was also named the SEC Freshman of the Week.

🔼  Golden Bear. LSU first baseman Jared Jones was named to the 2025 Golden Spikes Award Preseason Watch List! The award goes to the best amateur baseball player in the country. Jones was also named the No. 1 first baseman and a Preseason First Team All-American by D1 Baseball.

🔼 Party At The Box. LSU baseball’s Opening Day will feature plenty of activities! Fan Fest, presented by POWERADE, will take place in the plaza area outside of Alex Box Stadium on Friday from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Admission to Fan Fest is free and the event will feature food trucks, inflatables, face painting, a caricature artist, and photo opportunities with former Tigers.

🔼 Playin’ In Paradise. The seventh-ranked men’s golf team finished the first round of the Puerto Rico Classic tied for sixth-place. They posted a 6-under par round of 282 on day one. Algot Kleen leads the Tigers tied for 13th at 3-under. They’ll continue play at 6:30 this morning as they’ll be paired with Georgia and North Florida.
