🎥 LSU+: SPORTS INFORMATION

Sports Information: Talkin' March Madness, Spring Football, Baseball Tigers & More
It's March! That means Bill is gearing up for conference play in baseball, Michael is getting ready for spring football, and Kent is packing his cowboy boots for Nashville and the SEC Tournament. The guys are back for another edition of the Sports Information podcast, talking that and much more. Also, a special birthday shoutout to SHAQ, who turned 54 on Friday!

🔼 On Par. The fifth-ranked Tigers closed out The Hayt at Sawgrass Country Club with an eight-under 280 on Monday, finishing fourth, just one stroke off the top three and five back of the title. LSU had three players finish in the top 15. Junior Jay Mendell led the way with a T6 finish at eight-under 208, bookending the tournament with matching five-under 65s on Saturday and yesterday for his 11th career top-10 finish. Individual competitor Alfons Bondesson matched Mendell at T6 with a steady three rounds below par. Arni Sveinsson landed at T13 with 15 birdies across the tournament, tied for second-most in the field.

🔼 Up Next. The Tigers (17-7) look to shake off a tough three-game sweep at No. 1 Tennessee with a 6 p.m. CT trip to Nicholls (12-10), where LSU owns a 13-0 all-time record in Thibodaux and a 37-game winning streak against the Colonels. The pitching staff has been strong all season with a 3.00 ERA, five shutouts, and 114 strikeouts, led by Jayden Heavener's 53 punchouts and eight complete games. At the plate, Jalia Lassiter (.371) and Sierra Daniel (.369) pace a lineup that has drawn the fifth-most walks in Division I with 127. The game streams on ESPN+ with Patrick Wright making his season debut on the LSU Sports Radio Network.

🔼 Long-Term Partners. Tiger fans, keep your dials right where they are: LSU Athletics and Guaranty Media have locked in a multi-year extension to keep Eagle 98.1 FM as the flagship home of the LSU Sports Radio Network. The partnership covers football, baseball, and men's basketball on Eagle 98.1, with women's basketball and softball airing on Talk 107.3. Guaranty Media's parent company is celebrating its 100th year in operation, and the deal ensures continued access to popular fan-favorite shows alongside wall-to-wall game coverage across the state.

🔼 On Deck. The Tigers (12-5) welcome Creighton (5-7) to Alex Box Stadium for a 6:30 p.m. CT first pitch this evening in what will be the first game ever between the two programs. Coach Jay Johnson's squad is looking to bounce back after a rough stretch, and Tuesday's game streams live on SEC Network+.
🔼 Keep Watch. LSU men’s golf’s Arni Sveinsson is on the 2026 Spring Watchlist for the Fred Haskins Award!
LSU Athletics, in partnership with Baton Rouge Area Foundation and Visit Baton Rouge, announces a new initiative, Death Valley Live, which is set to bring world-class entertainment and special events to one of the most iconic venues in America, Tiger Stadium.
