The Powerhouse. The Tigers remain tough & together no matter the challenge, just as Coach Jay Johnson reflects in his teachings this season. After facing an injury his freshman season, right-handed pitcher Chase Shores is ready to step on the mound and into his role as LSU Baseball starts SEC play.

The YETI Game Changer of the Week is softball’s Tori Edwards! She tallied three home runs last week, including one to push the Tigers ahead of No. 23 Kentucky to secure the series win on Saturday. She recorded nine RBIs in the 4-0 week.

🔼 Big 4 On The Big Screen. Women’s basketball’s Flau’Jae Johnson will be featured in the second season of ESPN’s Full Court Press! The show is following three of the nation’s top players throughout the season. It’s a four-part series that takes viewers inside the world of women’s college basketball. Episodes one and two will premiere on ESPN on May 3!

🔼 Freshman On Fire. LSU baseball’s Derek Curiel has been named the SEC Co-Freshman of the Week! He helped the Tigers to four-straight wins last week, including the sweep of Missouri. Curiel hit two doubles, one triple, four RBI, and six runs over the weekend. He ranks No. 1 in the SEC in batting average, hits, and walks.

🔼 Successful Sunday. The ninth-ranked women’s tennis team defeated No. 25 South Carolina 4-3 in a close match, with freshman Cadence Brace securing the victory in a third-set tiebreaker. The Tigers then swept Jackson State 7-0, with Brace and Kayla Cross securing a quick doubles win. Brace, Kenna Erickson, and Cross each won their singles matches in straight sets.
