Gold Standard with Bill Franques. On the latest episode of the Gold Standard with Bill Franques, the guys talk about LSU's sweep of Missouri at The Box, highlight impressive starts to the season for Bear Jones, Derek Curiel & others, and pay respects to the great Sandy Bertman. She was 87 years old. The guys also talk to LSU Baseball National Champion Mikie Mahtook and get his thoughts on the current team.

🔼 SEC’s Best. To no one’s surprise, Kailin Chio was named the SEC Freshman of the Year! She becomes the fourth Tiger to win the honor after making SEC history with nine Freshman of the Week honors. Haleigh Bryant, Aleah Finnegan, and Konnor McClain earned All-SEC honors.

🔼 Starting Early. LSU baseball is getting the weekend started early! They’ll host Mississippi State tonight at 7 p.m. Fans at home can watch on the SEC Network. The Tigers are coming off a 17-4 win over UL-Lafayette.

🔼 Geaux Pro. LSU football’s Pro Day was yesterday! NFL scouts, coaches, and executives attended the event to see measurements and workouts of NFL draft-eligible Tigers. Click here to see the results!

🔼  Opening Day. There are eight former Tigers on 2025 MLB Opening Day rosters! Paul Skenes returns to the Pittsburgh Pirates, Dylan Crews returns to the Washington Nationals, DJ LeMahieu enters his seventh season with the New York Yankees, Alex Bregman joins the Boston Red Sox, Aaron Nola returns to the Philadelphia Phillies, Kevin Gausman starts his fourth season with the Toronto Blue Jays, Josh Smith returns to the Texas Rangers, and Jake Fraley begins his fourth season with the Cincinnati Reds. LSU has had at least one former player make his MLB debut in 30 of the past 34 seasons.
