🔼 Moving On. The Tigers made quick work of No. 16-seeded Missouri in the SEC Tournament first round, cruising to a 4-0 victory in Norman. Addison Lanton and Alexia Marginean set the tone with a 6-1 doubles win at No. 3, and the No. 67 duo of Cadence Brace and Kayla Cross clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 win at No. 1. Freshman Lanton then rolled through singles with a 6-0 first set before her opponent retired, extending her winning streak to eight matches. No. 46 Cross added a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 2, and Kenna Erickson clinched the sweep at No. 6 with a 6-4, 6-1 comeback victory, giving her her fifth straight win. LSU faces No. 8-seeded Tennessee in the second round today at 3 p.m. CT.

🔼 In the Rankings. LSU beach volleyball is ranked No. 13 in the AVCA week eight poll! LSU went 4-0 at the Battle on the Bayou and is set to compete in the Gulf Front Invitational from April 17-18 in Florida.

🔼 Nominated! Swimmer Megan Barnes and track and field hurdler Matthew Sophia are LSU's 2026 nominees for the SEC's prestigious H. Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete Post-Graduate Scholarship, the league's highest academic honor. Barnes, a senior, has qualified for the NCAA Championships every season, holds four program records, and has earned multiple SEC Academic Honor Roll, President's Honor Roll, and CSC Academic All-District honors. Sophia is a three-time All-American and Dutch National Champion in the 110-meter hurdles who holds the No. 5 time in LSU history (13.37) while earning USTFCCCA All-Academic Team and Dean's List recognition.

🔼 Outstanding Assistant. LSU men's golf assistant coach Jace Long has been named one of five Division I finalists for the 2026 Jan Strickland Outstanding Assistant Coach Award. In Long's second season with the Tigers, the No. 7-ranked squad hasn't finished outside the top four in any event, racking up three team victories and five additional top-three finishes.

🔼 Honor Roll. LSU swimming & diving had 21 student-athletes recognized on the 2025-26 SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll for their classroom achievements. The men's side placed 10 on the list, including NCAA Championship qualifiers Jere Hribar (Finance) and Andrew Garon (Computer Engineering), while the women had 11 honorees highlighted by NCAA participants Megan Barnes (Information Systems & Analytics), Grace Palmer (Kinesiology), and Giulia Zambelli (Biological Sciences).

Women’s basketball guards Mikaylah Williams and Izzy Besselman represented LSU women's basketball on the 2025-26 SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll, maintaining a 3.0 or higher GPA while competing at the highest level on the court.
