Bayou Brew 4/2: At Augusta
Plus: LSU baseball alums are crushing it in the pros.
Good morning, Tigers.
What else is mixed into today’s Bayou Brew?
👀 Keep watch
📈 Moving up
🐯 And so much more!

🔼 Best of the Week. LSU women’s golf freshman Ryleigh Knaub picked up her second SEC Freshman of the Week award this spring after firing a 9-under 207 to finish T3 at the ULM Invitational. The Florida native has been on a roll with three consecutive top-10 finishes, including a fourth-place showing at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate where she carded matching rounds of 70 all three days. Knaub is averaging 71.89 strokes per round across 18 rounds this season.

🔼 Keep Watch. Sophomore catcher Cade Arrambide landed on the Buster Posey Award Midseason Watch List, which honors the nation's top collegiate catcher. The Tomball, Texas product is hitting .259 with four homers, 16 RBI, and a .981 fielding percentage behind the plate. Arrambide flashed his potential early at the Live Like Lou Jax College Classic, earning All-Tournament honors after hitting .400 with two homers and a .600 on-base percentage. He contributed to LSU's National Championship run as a true freshman last season, appearing in 36 games with four homers and 14 RBI.

🔼 Moving Up. The Sandy Tigs moved up to No. 11 in the latest AVCA poll, extending their remarkable streak of consecutive top-20 rankings. LSU is on a bye this weekend after a tough 0-4 showing at the Texas Invitational and returns to action at home April 10-11 for the final home tournament of the season, hosting Central Arkansas, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas A&M-Kingsville, and Southeastern Louisiana.

🔼 Up Next. The Tigers (21-5, 7-4 SEC) head out for a pivotal road swing with a visit today to No. 13 South Carolina (noon CT) followed by a Saturday trip to No. 21 Florida (11 a.m. CT). LSU sits fourth in the SEC standings and is one win from surpassing its highest win total since 2005. Full preview here.

🔼 On Deck. LSU softball (23-12, 4-8 SEC) heads to Columbia for a three-game set against Missouri (20-18, 4-5 SEC) beginning tonight at 6 p.m. CT. This marks LSU's first SEC series against an unranked opponent after opening conference play with four straight top-25 matchups, including two against top-five teams. The Tigers have won five of eight despite the Oklahoma series loss and lead the all-time series with Mizzou 18-13, though they haven't won in Columbia since 2021.
🔼 At Augusta. Incoming Tiger Raegan Denton made a spectacular ANWA debut, posting a bogey-free 5-under 67 in the first round at Champions Retreat to sit T6, just two shots off the lead. The 18-year-old from Australia, who won three straight tournaments heading into the event, birdied both front-nine par 5s and added back-to-back birdies on 10 and 11 before closing with seven pars. Sophomore Rocio Tejedo opened at 4-over 76 (T59) after three early birdies were offset by five bogeys on the back nine; she'll need a strong Thursday to make the cut. Round 2 coverage airs on Golf Channel today from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. CT.
