Gold Standard with Bill Franques. Bill and Will recap an unconventional sweep at The Box this past weekend, moving the Tigers to 26-3 overall and 7-2 in SEC play.

🔼 Hot Shots. LSU baseball has recorded its best start through 30 games since 2013, sitting 27-3. They defeated Louisiana Tech 12-3 last night. Ethan Frey homered and drove in four runs in the win. Jared Jones hit his 53rd career home run, taking sixth on the all-time LSU homers list.

🔼 Brought The Heat. LSU softball also picked up an in-state win last night, beating McNeese 12-2 on the road. The Tigers recorded 13 hits and three home runs. Long balls came from Tori Edwards, Maddox McKee, and McKenzie Redoutey. Jayden Heavener threw her ninth complete game of the year.

🔼 Boot Up. LSU men’s basketball head coach Matt McMahon had a busy day in the portal, signing two new Tigers.

Michael Nwoko, a 6-10 forward from Mississippi State, transfers to LSU for the 2025-26 season. Nwoko averaged 6.1 points and 4.6 rebounds per game last season and previously played at Miami.

Dedan Thomas Jr., a highly-ranked transfer guard from UNLV, joins Nwoko. Thomas Jr. was named Mountain West Co-Freshman of the Year and led the Runnin’ Rebels in scoring and assists this season. He scored in double figures in 22 games, scoring 20 or more in five.

🔼  Final Four Fun. Men’s basketball player Cam Carter will participate in the State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships and the Reese’s NABC College All-Star Game during NCAA Final Four week. Carter, a senior from Donaldsonville, had a standout season, making 80 three-pointers and finishing with 1,311 career points.
