Plus: LSU hosts two NCAA Regionals.
Good morning, Tigers.
LSU sophomore Kailin Chio was named one of four finalists for the 2026 Honda Sport Award for gymnastics, joining UCLA's Jordan Chiles, Stanford's Anna Roberts, and Oklahoma's Faith Torrez. Chio was the nation's No. 1 all-arounder during the regular season and put together a historic sophomore campaign with 13 perfect 10s (the most by any LSU gymnast in a single season), 44 event wins, and the first perfect 10 at nationals in program history. She helped lead the Tigers to an NCAA runner-up finish and swept SEC Gymnast of the Year and Region One Gymnast of the Year honors. The winner becomes a finalist for the Honda Cup, which will be awarded live on CBS Sports Network on July 27.

🐯 And so much more!
Your YETI Game Changer of the Week is baseball’s Omar Serna Junior!
The freshman catcher/DH batted .500 (9-for-18) in LSU’s four games last week with two doubles, three homers, eight RBI and seven runs scored. In LSU’s series at Mississippi State, Serna Jr. hit .571 (8-for-14) with two doubles, three homers, six RBI and six runs scored. He has raised his cumulative average to .314 (38-for-121) and is now the second-leading hitter on the LSU squad.

🔼 Hosting the Tourney. LSU men's tennis earned the No. 7 seed in the NCAA Tournament and will host a regional for the first time since 2009. The Tigers welcome Alabama State, Michigan, and Pepperdine to the LSU Tennis Complex beginning May 1, with LSU facing Alabama State at 5 p.m. CT. It's the program's 21st regional appearance and just the eighth time hosting. The winner advances to the Sweet 16 on May 8-10.

🔼 10 Straight. LSU women's tennis punched its ticket to the NCAA Tournament for the 10th consecutive year, earning the No. 10 seed and hosting a regional at the LSU Tennis Complex. The Tigers will face Stephen F. Austin on May 2 no earlier than 2 p.m. CT, with TCU and Rice meeting in the other first-round match. It's the 27th regional appearance in program history and the fourth time hosting, following 1998, 2021, and 2025. The winner advances to the Sweet 16 on May 8-10.
🔼 Bark in the Park. It’s time for Bark in the Park with LSU softball! Bring your pooch to tonight’s game vs. McNeese at 6 p.m. The most Tigers-spirited dog and owner will win a prize.
The Tigers hold a commanding 57-13 all-time advantage over the Cowgirls and are 34-6 against them in Baton Rouge, including a 9-3 win earlier this season. LSU's offense has been on a tear with 26 homers over the last 18 games, led by Tori Edwards (12 HR, 39 RBI) and Kylee Edwards (10 HR, .338 average). Paytn Monticelli brings a four-game winning streak into the start after earning SEC Pitcher of the Week honors. McNeese arrives hot, too, riding an eight-game winning streak behind a lineup hitting .324 with 50 homers on the year.

🔼 International Addition. LSU women’s basketball head coach Kim Mulkey added another piece to LSU's 2026-27 roster with the signing of 6-3 Spanish forward Noa Morro. A versatile frontcourt player out of Mallorca, Morro averaged 8.0 points and 7.4 rebounds per game this season with KutxaBank Araski while shooting 36.5 percent from three. Her EuroLeague experience includes time alongside Awa Fam, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft. Morro also shares a special basketball bond with her mother, Sara, the two played on the same Spanish club team in 2020-21, with Noa wearing her mother's jersey number.
