Plus: Cade Arrambide keeps collecting accolades.
Good morning, Tigers.
Cade Arrambide also landed on Baseball America’s Team of the Week for his stellar performance last weekend.
What else is mixed into today’s Bayou Brew?
🏆 Best of the Week
📖 In Class
🐯 And so much more!

🔼 In Memoriam. LSU Athletics is honoring the memory of Joe May, who served as the Tigers' track and field head coach from 1964-76 and guided five athletes to national titles. Before coaching, May was a two-sport star at LSU from 1953-56, winning three conference championships in javelin and the 440-yard relay while also playing football, highlighted by a 96-yard kickoff return for a touchdown against Kentucky in 1955. He was 93 years old.

🔼 Best of the Week. Ella Onojuvwevwo earned her first-ever SEC weekly honor after shattering the LSU 400-meter record with a blistering 49.59 at the Battle on the Bayou. The time stands as the world and NCAA lead this season, ranks 10th in collegiate history, seventh in African history, and fourth in Nigerian history. Onojuvwevwo also anchored the Tigers' 4x400-meter relay to a win in 3:26.51, the fourth-fastest time in LSU history and currently No. 6 in the NCAA.

🔼 Ranked & Ready. The Tigers remain a national powerhouse as the USTFCCCA released its second outdoor rankings of the season, with the LSU men holding firm at No. 1 in the country and the women coming in at No. 5. LSU boasts 12 individuals and four relays currently ranked in the top 10 nationally this outdoor season.
🔼 Midweek W. LSU softball picked up a big midweek win last night, defeating Central Arkansas, 9-1. Tatum Clopton snagged the win in the circle, climbing to 7-1 on the season with a 2.01 ERA. The Tigers got offense from Maci Bergeron, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, Sierra Daniel, who went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI, and RBIs from Alix Franklin, Tori Edwards, and Rylie Johnson.

🔼 In Class. The Tigers placed eight student-athletes on the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, recognizing top performers in the pool and the classroom with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA. Megan Barnes, Saskia Blasius, Grace Palmer, and Giulia Zambelli represented the women's side, while Diggory Dillingham, Andrew Garon, Jere Hribar, and Karlo Percinic earned the honor for the men. Five of the eight (Barnes, Palmer, Zambelli, Dillingham, and Hribar) competed at this year's NCAA Championships, where the women finished 21st and the men placed 16th.
