Bayou Brew 4/5: The Tigers Are Marching In

Today, there's a parade followed by a party in the PMAC!

Good morning. If this recap video from the national championship doesn't get you ready for the national championship parade today, I don't know what will.

What's steeping in today's Brew?

⚾️ Tiger takeover on a Tuesday
🏀 Can't rain on our parade
🐯 And much, much more!

In case you missed it. You can watch (or rewatch) the women's basketball welcome home party now on LSU Gold. Don't forget that we're giving you one free month of LSU Gold so you can catch up on the Piece It 2Gether series that goes behind the scenes of the women's basketball team throughout the season.

🔼 Tiger Takeover. LSU dominated Nicholls on the diamond last night, winning 12-2. Before all the action started, women's basketball star Alexis Morris threw the first pitch, just hours after declaring for the WNBA Draft. Christian Little took over from there and Gavin Guidry joined in relief to earn the win.

Tommy Tanks Tuesday. Tommy White showed no mercy when he decided to blast two home runs over the wall and collect 5 RBIs. He bumped his batting average up to .378.

Jared Jones joined in on the fun and blasted his ninth home run of the year in the fifth inning. Gavin Dugas brought three runners in with a sac fly and a triple.

🔼 To The Tee. LSU placed seventh in the Mossy Oak Collegiate yesterday after scoring a 287 (-19) as a team. Graduate student Garrett Barber tied for 6th individually, shooting -10. Freshman Luke Haskew had a good weekend as he shot one of the lowest rounds in the last 35 years, shooting -9 in the opening round. He finished tied for 11th individually.

🔼  Spring Fever. You can find all the sights and sounds of spring practice on LSU GOLD. Mark your calendar for the annual LSU spring game, which will be held on Saturday, April 22nd.

Defensive Coordinator Matt House met with the media yesterday, and two of his top returners, Linebacker Harold Perkins, Jr. and defensive tackle Mekhi Wingo were both named Walter Camp Preseason All-Americans last week.

🔼 It's A Parade Inside My City. Join the national champions as they parade through campus this evening at 6:30pm. It will begin at LSU's School of Music. The celebration will continue in the Maravich Center at 7:00pm with special guests and a trophy presentation taking place. The event can be streamed on Facebook Watch, YouTube, and SEC Network+.

Bayou Traditions raises funds to provide Name, Image & Likeness (NIL) opportunities to LSU student-athletes—making NIL deals more accessible and sustainable and allowing student-athletes to gain finance and business experience without compromising their focus on studies and sports.

NIL is a competitive space and now influences where an athlete attends college. We need the Tiger community to join us and keep LSU at the forefront of NIL!

To the big stage. With Alexis Morris declaring for the 2023 WNBA Draft, let's travel back in time to last years draft.

Do you remember how many LSU women's basketball players were drafted in 2022?
