Get to know LSU women's tennis star freshman Addison Lanton, a key contributor to the Tigers' run to a second-straight Elite Eight. Entering as one of the nation’s top 25 recruits – and the No. 1 player in Illinois – Lanton has made her mark during her first season in Baton Rouge.

No. 18 LSU softball opens NCAA Tournament play today at 5:30 p.m. on ESPN+ against MAC Champion Akron, hosting the Baton Rouge Regional for the fourth straight season and 17th time overall. The Tigers enter winners of five of their last six, led by senior Jalia Lassiter (.353, 59 runs) and All-SEC First Team honoree Kylee Edwards (.344, 10 HR), who has struck out just 10 times all season. In the circle, Paytn Monticelli has been untouchable of late, going 5-0 with a 0.33 ERA over her last five starts, while ace Jayden Heavener leads the staff at 12-8 with a no-hitter among her four shutouts. No. 11/14 Virginia Tech and Sun Belt Tournament Champion South Alabama open the other side of the bracket at 3 p.m.

🔼 All-Region Tigers. LSU softball placed five players on the 2026 NFCA Gulf All-Region Team, with Jayden Heavener and Jalia Lassiter earning First Team honors, Tori Edwards landing on the Second Team, and Sierra Daniel and Kylee Edwards rounding out the Third Team. Lassiter is now a four-time All-Region honoree, while Heavener earned her first First Team nod. Daniel earned her first NFCA postseason recognition this year.

🔼 Team of the Year. LSU soccer was named the Athletes For Hope Team of the Year! The Tigers beat out a national pool of teams to bring home the honor.
