LSU's ace starting pitchers Kade Anderson and Anthony Eyanson have
felt the fruits of their labor from the offseason come to life.

As one of the best starting pitching duos in the country, Anderson and
Eyanson have paced the Tigers' staff to be in the hunt for
a national seed come NCAA tournament time.

The YETI Game Changer of the Week is baseball’s Kade Anderson. It’s been an award-winning week for Anderson, literally. He was named a semifinalist for the Dick Howser Trophy, as well as the Golden Spikes Award. In addition, Anderson was one of seven Tigers earning SEC honors, as the southpaw was named to the All-SEC First Team on Monday.

🔼 We’ll Take A Six Pack. With a league as loaded as the SEC, it’s tough to lead the pack, but that’s exactly what the top-ranked LSU baseball program did on Monday with the most combined first and second-team All-SEC selections with 6️⃣.

Left-handed pitcher Kade Anderson and right-handed pitcher Zac Cowan were named First-Team All-SEC; first baseman Jared Jones, right-handed pitcher Anthony Eyanson, second baseball Daniel Dickinson and outfielder Derek Curiel received Second-Team All-SEC recognition; and Curiel and right-handed pitcher Casan Evans were awarded Freshman All-SEC honors.

🔼 Earning Her (Stars &) Stripes. LSU volleyball’s Jurnee Robinson has some new summer plans.

Late last week, Robinson was selected to train with the 2025 U.S. Women’s U23 National Team.

The U.S. U23 WNT will represent the United States at the NORCECA Women’s U23 Pan American Cup on July 25 – Aug. 2 in Leon, Mexico.

Training will occur July 18-25 in Anaheim, Calif., at the National Training Center. Twelve athletes from the training pool will be selected to travel and compete in Mexico.

Robinson is a two-time AVCA selection and was the 2023 AVCA South Freshman of the Year. In two seasons at LSU, Robinson averages 4.95 points, 4.38 kills and 0.60 blocks per set. She is 151 kills shy of landing 1,000 career kills and has 117 total blocks, including 27 solo blocks and 40 aces. Robinson also averages 2.13 digs per set and has 47 assists.

🔼 Power Pair. With the top-ranked Tigers heading to the SEC Tournament this week, two of their leaders were among an elite group recognized over the weekend.

Left-handed pitcher Kade Anderson and first baseman Jared Jones were both named semifinalists for the 2025 Dick Howser Trophy.

The Dick Howser Trophy Committee, in conjunction with the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, presents the award the top NCAA Division I baseball player based on two rounds of national voting by NCBWA members.

This is the 38th year of the Dick Howser Trophy, and the 2025 finalists will be announced on Thursday, June 7. The winner will be unveiled on MLB Network in a special national presentation on Friday, June 13.

🔼 Opportunity Knocks. The dream was always there and now, it’s a reality.

Over the weekend, former LSU catcher Hayden Travinski signed a free agent contract with the Houston Astros organization and has been assigned to the Astros’ Rookie-level affiliate in the Florida Complex League.

Travinski, a product of Shreveport, La., and a 2023 LSU graduate, played in five seasons (2020-24) for the Tigers, appearing in 177 career games (119 starts). He batted .279 (127-for-456) with 22 doubles, 37 homers, 110 RBI and 98 runs.

Travinski earned the starting catcher role at the end of April 2023 and played a tremendous role in the Tigers’ drive to the National Championship.

⚾️ TOURNEY TIME

In March, the madness happens on the court.

In May, the madness happens on the diamond and there will be no more competitive week in the country than at the SEC Tournament in Hoover, Ala.

The top-ranked Tigers head east this week as the third-seed in this year’s event and will play on Friday evening either Auburn or the winner of Texas A&M and Mississippi State.
