🔼 Called To The Hall, Again. For the second time in two weeks, LSU great Temeka Johnson earned a Hall of Fame nod.

Last week, she was announced as part of the incoming class for LSU Athletics Hall of Fame this fall. On Wednesday, Johnson was selected into the New Orleans Sports Hall of Fame.

A native of New Orleans, Johnson was a four-time All-American (2002-05) and the winner of the 2005 Nancy Liebermann Award as the nation’s best point guard. She is No. 1 on LSU’s all-time assists list with 945, a mark that is No. 8 in NCAA Division I history.

Johnson earned her LSU degree in 2004, and she was voted 2005 WNBA Rookie of the Year. She won a WNBA championship with the Phoenix Mercury in 2009.

🔼 Oui Oui! Heading to France isn’t a bad way to start the summer, huh?

That’s what LSU women’s hoops standout Mikaylah Williams will be doing this weekend as she was announced as part of the USA Basketball 3×3 Women’s Series roster on Wednesday. Game will begin on Friday in Marseille, France.

The USA’s season begins Friday at the Marseille Women’s Series event in Marseille, France. As part of Pool C, USA will face Czech Republic and France on Friday at 10:15 a.m. and 2:05 p.m. ET, respectively.

USA Basketball is also slated to compete at the Ulaanbaatar Women’s Series competition June 18-19 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, with additional events expected to be added at a later date.

Williams helped USA earn three straight FIBA 3×3 U18 gold medals from 2021-23. The 2022 USA Basketball 3×3 Athlete of the Year and 2023 USA Basketball 3×3 Female Athlete of the Year, Williams has continually made an impact for her home country.

🔼 Poll Position. With the outdoor season winding down, the LSU track & field squad continue to find themselves ranked among the country’s best.

In the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association outdoor rankings, the Tigers rank 14th on the men’s side and 19th on the women’s side.

LSU has a total of seven individuals and two relays ranked top 10 in the nation after the SEC Outdoor Championships.

In March, the madness happens on the court.

In May, the madness happens on the diamond and there will be no more competitive week in the country than at the SEC Tournament in Hoover, Ala.

The top-ranked Tigers head east this week as the third-seed in this year’s event and will play on Friday evening either Auburn or the winner of Texas A&M and Mississippi State.
