🔼 Boxin’ It Out. Who doesn’t love a weekend at The Box?

Mix in the NCAA postseason and the best atmosphere in college baseball turns it up a few notches.

After being announced as a regional host on Sunday, the LSU baseball team learned its NCAA Tournament fate, being named the No. 6 national seed for the 2025 NCAA Baseball Tournament.

The Tigers will play host to No. 2 seed Dallas Baptist, No. 3 seed Rhode Island and LSU’s first round opponent No. 4 seeded Arkansas-Little Rock.

The No. 6 National Seed marks LSU’s second appearance among the Top 8 seeds in the past three seasons. The Tigers were the No. 5 National Seed in 2023, when they claimed their seventh College World Series title.

🔼 Movin’ On. Sometimes, you just have to run in the rain.

On a night where weather wrecked havoc on start times, the LSU track & field program advanced seven into the next stage at the NCAA East Preliminary Round in Jacksonville.

Those seven are now just one stage away from reaching the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene next month.

🔼 Something Major. A pair of former LSU stars will be teeing it up at the U.S. Women’s Open starting today in Erin, Wisconsin.

Former Tigers, Ingrid Lindblad and Madelene Sagstrom, will represent LSU at the major championship.

The 72-hole tournament, which features 156 of the top players and carries a $12 million purse, runs Thursday through Sunday. The course will play to a par of 72 and some 6,800 yards, making it one of the longest layouts for a women’s U. S. Open.

The pair of LSU players have both won on the LPGA Tour this season, with Sagstrom winning for the second time in her LPGA career in the match play championship in Las Vegas and then Lindblad following in the very next event in Los Angeles, with her first career LPGA title in her third start on tour.

🔼 Country’s Finest. One day after LSU softball’s star freshman Tori Edwards earned All-American status, a classmate followed suit on the golf course.

Tiger freshman women’s golfer Rocio Tejedo was named a second team All-America by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association earlier this week.

Tejedo becomes the 18th LSU player to earn at least one All-American citation in her career. The native of Spain joins her sister Carla in the A-A grouping as the former Tiger star was named an All-American by Golfweek in 2022.

The SEC Freshman of the Year and first-team All-SEC selection for 2025 played in 35 rounds this season with six top five finishes and a team best stroke average of 71.49. It is the seventh best stroke average in a single season at LSU. Tejedo posted 22 rounds of par or under which ranked fourth for a single season.
