There’s nothing like NCAA Tournament action at The Box.

Today kicks off the 29th regional in Baton Rouge as the Tigers play host to Arkansas-Little Rock in the first round matchup set for 2 pm this afternoon.

The winner will face the winner of No. 2 seed Dallas Baptist and No. 3 seed Rhode island on Saturday.

The No. 6 National Seed marks LSU’s second appearance among the Top 8 seeds in the past three seasons. The Tigers were the No. 5 National Seed in 2023, when they claimed their seventh College World Series title.

🎥 LSU+: GEARING UP

LSU Baseball's 56-game playoff commenced 105 days ago and thanks
to the efforts of Coach Johnson and his players, the Tigers earned the No. 6
national seed cementing their opportunity to play at home in the postseason.

LSU, in the hunt for its eighth national title, begins the festivities as it
hosts the Baton Rouge Regional, kicking off The Road To Omaha.

🔼 Lights, Camera, Action. Get out the planners now, we’ve got spots to fill in.

The Tigers’ conference opener against Florida on Sept. 13th will be a 6:30 pm kickoff at Tiger Stadium and will be televised on ABC.

In addition, LSU’s home opener against Louisiana Tech on Sept. 6 is slated for a 6:30 p.m. CT kickoff and will be streamed on ESPN+/SECN+.

🔼 Freaky Fast. Delays, wet conditions - nothing could slow down Tima Godbless on Thursday in Jacksonville.

The sophomore clocked a huge personal-best time of 10.91 seconds (+1.2 m/s), the fastest time of the 100m first round. The time of 10.91 ranks first in the world for 2025, first in the NCAA, No. 4 in LSU history, No. 4 in Nigerian history and No. 6 in African history.

After Godbless’ first round performance in the 100m, she joins eight other LSU women that have gone sub-11 seconds. She becomes the ninth-fastest performer in NCAA Championships history, and sits behind only Aleia Hobbs as the second-fastest performer in First Round history.

In addition to Godbless’ stunning performance, two Tigers punched their tickets to Eugene with sophomore Trinity Spooner earning her second straight trip to the NCAA Championships in the javelin, while Edna Chepkemoi earned a spot in the 10,000m to close out the evening.

🔼 Smash Sisters. In the early 1990s, the Oakland Athletics had the Bash Brothers.

In 2025, the LSU softball squad had the Smash Sisters.

The duo of junior Maci Bergeron and freshman Tori Edwards were a nightmare for opposing offense all season long and on Wednesday, the pair was recognized for their performanced by being named 2025 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division I All-Americans. Edwards is a second-team All-American, while Bergeron is a third-team All-American.

For the first time since 2021, LSU has multiple All-Americans in the same season. Bergeron and Edwards became the program’s 27th and 28th All-Americans and 43rd and 44th All-American selections. The duo, who have become known as the Smash Sisters, hit 27 of the team’s 42 home runs and have combined for a .373 batting average behind 122 hits.
