🔼 Operation Omaha. Tomorrow, it all gets started.

For the 20th time in program history, the LSU baseball team will take the field in Omaha, facing off against a familiar face, the third-seeded Arkansas Razorbacks. The Tigers and Razorbacks are the highest two seeds remaining in the CWS.

The winner of Saturday evening’s matchup advances to take on the winner of UCLA and Murray State.

First pitch from Omaha is set for 6 pm.

🔼 Just Getting Started. The first points are on the board for the LSU track & field squad as the women laced them up for their first day of action in Eugene on Thursday.

The first points of the week for the Tigers came in the women’s 10,000 meter. Newcomer Edna Chepkemoi clocked an LSU record of 32:10.75 to earn a sixth-place finish in her first NCAA appearance.

With the sixth-place finish, Chepkemoi scored three points for LSU. Her previous personal-best time entering the meet was 33:11.87 from the NCAA East First Round and makes her just the second Tiger to go sub-33 minutes.

🔼 In Striking Distance. The boys are off in Oakmont as former Tigers Sam Burns and Philip Barbarbee Jr. teed off in Thursday’s opening round.

The course proved to be as tough as advertised, but Burns finds himself just six shots off the lead, tied for 33rd with a two-over in the opening round.

🔼 Beach & Basketball. The summer isn’t the only time the LSU basketball squad is hittin’ the beach.

This November, the Tigers are headed to the 2025 Emerald Coast Classic basketball tournament in Niceville, Fla. and now, they’ve got their first round opponent.

LSU will square off with Drake, who is coming off a historic season in 2024-25, when they posted 31 wins and reached the third round of the NCAA Tournament.

DePaul will face Georgia Tech in the other semifinal round game at 6 p.m. CT on Friday, Nov. 28, while Drake will play LSU at 8:30 p.m. The third-place game will be played at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29 with the championship game to follow on that Saturday.

Both of the semifinal round games as well as the championship game will be televised on CBS Sports Network.

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER

Answer: Jared Jones.

LSU DH Ethan Frey elevated a fly ball that was caught by Arkansas centerfielder Justin Thomas Jr., allowing first baseman Jared Jones to tag at third base and beat Thomas’ throw to the plate to scoring the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning.
