Jaden Reid is a national champion! Reid became the fastest man in collegiate history, shattering the 19-year-old 200-meter record with a 19.63 to win the NCAA title in Eugene on Friday night. He also took silver in the 100 meters with a wind-aided 9.82, the second-fastest all-conditions time in LSU history, and anchored the 4x100 relay to silver in 38.06, tying for the 10th-fastest time in NCAA history.
Reid scored 20 of LSU's 42 points as the Tigers finished fourth as a team. The 4x400 relay capped the night with another silver and an LSU-record 2:57.96, the fourth-fastest in collegiate history, powered by Shakeem McKay's closing 43.77 split. Matthew Sophia and Amal Glasgow each added a point with eighth-place finishes.

Shawnti Jackson collected three medals on the final day in Eugene, finishing third in the 100 meters (11.01), second in the 200 meters (22.12), and anchoring the 4x100 relay to silver in an LSU-record 41.74. The relay time is the third-fastest in collegiate history and the program's first sub-42-second performance, breaking an eight-year-old school record. Tima Godbless added a seventh-place finish in the 100 final. The LSU women finished 10th as a team with 24 points.
