🔼 And Here We Go. For the 17th time since 1999, the LSU baseball team will hit the field in Super Regionals this weekend.

After a heart-stopping thriller of a regional, the Tigers now welcome the Mountaineers of West Virginia to Baton Rouge for a three-game showdown, beginning tomorrow afternoon at The Box, with first pitch set for 1 pm.

🔼 A Lasting Legacy. He may only have been a Tiger for a year, but the impact Chris Stanfield has made will be leaving a legacy far beyond the baseball field.

On Thursday, the junior centerfielder was named one of three finalists for the inaugural Tony Gwynn Trophy, honoring NCAA baseball student-athletes who exemplify the Gwynn legacy of philanthropy.

The Gwynn Trophy, conceptualized for the 2025 season, is intended to honor collegiate baseball student-athletes who are active in their community and represent their programs with integrity, while exceling in the classroom and on the field.

Over his three-year college career, Stanfield has been a fixture in the communities of Auburn and LSU. He launched his “Be The 1” campaign at LSU, where he donates $100 to the Miracle League in Baton Rouge for every game in which he produces an extra-base hit or stolen base. He is actively involved with the Miracle League in Baton Rouge, which gives children with any type of disability or special needs the opportunity to play baseball as part of a team.

🔼 Going Global. The Tigers are taking over the international stage.

A trio of LSU soccer standouts were recently called up to represent their home countries this upcoming weekend.

Ida Hermannsdottir and Audur Scheving appeared with the Iceland U23 Women’s National Team while Sophine Kevorkian was called up to the Armenian Women’s National Team.

This weekend’s appearances marked the second time that Hermannsdottir, Scheving and Kevorkian have all represented the Tigers on the world stage since beginning their careers at LSU, proving to have success on both the collegiate and international levels. 

🔼 Show Stopper. The rest of the college baseball world found out what all of us already knew.

Casan Evans is a stud.

Earlier this week, the freshman sensation was named as one of 13 finalists for the 2025 Stopper of the Year award by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).

The 20th NCBWA Stopper of the Year Award, given to the nation’s top relief pitcher in NCAA Division I Baseball, will be announced on Friday, June 13, at the College World Series in Omaha, Neb.
