Anderson Officially Signs With Mariners

Good Morning, LSU Fam. Not sure about y’all, but our first day at work didn’t include meeting any Hall of Famers.

What all do we have stirring in today’s Brew? Check it out below!

🎥 LSU+: DRAFTED

Kade Anderson was the best pitcher in the country in 2025, leading LSU Baseball
to its eighth national championship via a nation-leading 180 strikeouts.

Follow his journey to being selected No. 3 overall in the MLB Draft with
an episode of Drafted, exclusive to LSU Plus.

🔼 Gettin’ Dubs. For the second straight stop on the FIBA 3×3 Nations League Tour, MiLaysia Fulwiley and her Team USA teammates picked up the W.

Fulwiley and the squad rolled through three victories on Wednesday, taking down Canada, 21-17 and dominating Argentina, 21-11.

That set up a showdown with the host squad from Chile, which the Americans fought through and claimed an 18-15 victory to seal the top spot of the day.

🔼 Eyes On Her. Before even officially stepping onto the court with the Tigers, outside hitter Nia Washington is already drawing attention for the LSU volleyball program.

Washington, who was also tabbed to the 2025 Preseason All-SEC Team, is one of 10 SEC athletes selected to the 30-player watch list.

The New Orleans native will enter the 2025 campaign with 627 career kills, 81 blocks and 29 aces, averaging 3.19 points per set. Washington is coming off a breakout season at Ole Miss, where she was named to the 2024 AVCA All-American Honorable Mention Team and 2024 All-SEC First Team after turning in 4.34 points and 3.84 kills per set, behind 445 kills, 39 blocks (10 solo) and 29 aces.

🔼 On The Move. As one former LSU legend called a career, another one is moving addresses.

On Tuesday, Jamal Adams signed on to join his former coach Pete Carroll with a one-year deal with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Adams will be entering his ninth NFL season in 2025.

🔼 Forever A Tiger. Former LSU baseball player Newton Thomas, who founded one of the largest privately-owned specialty industrial construction companies in the United States, passed away this past weekend at the age of 81.

Thomas, who in 2015 was named LSU Alumnus of the Year and inducted into the LSU Alumni Hall of Distinction, graduated from University Lab School in 1962 and earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from LSU in 1967.

While a student, he played catcher for the LSU baseball team, was a cheerleader, and was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity.

⏱️ COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 3️⃣7️⃣ DAYS

The 2024 Tigers put a stamp on the regular season in dominant fashion, rolling past SEC newcomer Oklahoma last November, 3️⃣7️⃣-17.

Despite having to leave the game briefly due to an injury, QB Garrett Nussmeier led the way offensively for the Tigers, going 22-of-31 for 277 yards with three TDs.

Damian Ramos nailed three field goals and a stifling defensive effort shut out the Sooners in the second half.
