Tigers Win: Patrick Coogan Reflects On Skip Bertman's Legacy & Leadership

Former LSU All American Patrick Coogan, a 2x National Championship-winning pitcher, joins the latest edition of Tigers Win to reflect on the extraordinarily life, legacy & impact of the greatest coach in college baseball history and one of the most influential giants in Louisiana sports history, Skip Bertman.

🔼 Chasing Seven Straight. LSU women's golf has its roadmap for another postseason run! Coach Garrett Runion announced a 2026-27 schedule he hopes leads to a seventh consecutive NCAA Championship appearance, featuring nine team events plus two individual tournaments. The slate opens Sept. 7-8 at the Cougar Classic in Charleston and includes a return to the Red Sky Classic, plus the prestigious Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, where the Tigers are two-time winners of the famed guitar trophy!

🔼 Medals in Paris. LSU swimming shined on the European stage! Jere Hribar headlined the Tigers' week at the 2026 European Aquatics Championships, helping Croatia's 4x100 freestyle relay to a bronze medal while adding a fifth-place finish in the 100 freestyle with a personal-best 47.42. Volodymyr Lisovets made history of his own, setting the Ukrainian national record in the 50 breaststroke semifinals before taking fifth in the final. Seven other current and incoming Tigers competed in Paris, with Nikola Simic posting personal bests in both the 800 and 1500 freestyle.

🔼 Last Tune-Up. LSU volleyball will hold its final exhibition match on Saturday before the regular season starts. The Tigers host the Ragin’ Cajuns at the Maravich Center at 1 p.m.

🔼 Home Game. LSU soccer exploded for five goals during Sunday’s win over Northwestern State. Catch the Tigers at home against UCF this Thursday at 7 p.m. CT. If you can’t make it to the game, it airs live on SEC Network+.
