An Exclusive Sit-Down Interview with LSU Athletics Director Verge Ausberry

In November of 2025, Verge Ausberry, the New Iberia, La., native and veteran senior administrator was named LSU’s 11th Director of Athletics following more than 30 years of service to the University. In an exclusive LSU+ sit-down interview, Ausberry joins Voice of the Tigers Chris Blair to recap his first eight months on the job and discuss the future of the department. He also remembers the life and legacy of one of his mentors, Skip Bertman, one of the most influential figures in the history of LSU Athletics.

🔼 Welcome to Baton Rouge. LSU track and field's newest sprinter is finally Baton Rouge-bound! Head Coach Dennis Shaver announced the signing of Obi Jennifer Chukwuka, who originally inked with the Tigers in November 2025 and now makes her way to campus. The Nigerian native arrives fresh off a 200-meter personal best of 23.26 seconds at the Commonwealth Games in July, and she clocked her 100-meter PR of 11.24 at the Nigerian Championship semifinals in June. She also helped Nigeria to a sixth-place finish in the 4x100 mixed relay at the World Athletics Relays this summer!
