🎥 LSU+: HEARING VOICES

Hearing Voices | Don Munson, Voice of the Clemson Tigers

Hearing Voices is back! On the latest edition, we head up to Clemson, South Carolina, to visit with the Voice of the Tigers, Don Munson, who joins Chris Blair to preview Saturday's blockbuster matchup between Brian Kelly's LSU Tigers and Dabo Swinney's Clemson Tigers.

🔼 He Put a Pin in It. After a season-ending injury last season, LSU linebacker Harold Perkins says he has “unfinished business.”

🔼 Badgers in the Bayou. The LSU Soccer team (2-2-0) will host No. 21 Wisconsin (4-0-0) for a Thursday night matchup against a top-25 opponent on August 28 at 7 p.m. CT inside the LSU Soccer Stadium.

The Tigers will look to break the Badgers’ undefeated streak thus far in the 2025 season.

🔼 Linking Up in the Rankings. Golfweek Magazine released its 2025-26 men’s college golf preseason rankings on Wednesday morning, seeing the LSU Tigers open up at No. 7 on the national list.

The men’s team is fresh off a ninth-place team finish at the 2025 NCAA Amherst Regional, ranked No. 6 in the country entering the tournament. The 2024-25 run was the first under the helm of head coach Jake Amos. Last year’s team returns seven to go along with two new additions in freshmen Dan Hayes and Hudson Lawson.

Writer Cameron Jourdan put together his top 30 teams for the season, and Coach Garrett Runion’s Tigers are highly mentioned as the team looks to extend its consecutive NCAA championship appearance record, which now stands at five.

🔼 Scorching Hot Burns News. Former LSU golf star Sam Burns was selected to represent Team USA at the 45th edition of the biennial Ryder Cup tournament.

The U.S. captain, Keegan Bradley, was the one to decide to add former LSU standout Sam Burns to the team, along with five others, announcing his decision live on Golf Channel and the Ryder Cup’s YouTube channel at the home of the PGA of America in Frisco, Texas.

Burns may have missed the automatic qualification cutoff (top six), but his recent putting skills made him hard to ignore. He finished tied for fourth at the BMW Championship and followed it up with a tie for seventh at the Tour Championship on Sunday.

🔼 Channeling Nostradamus Or Nah? According to ESPN's College Football Power Index, LSU is predicted to win nine of its 12 games on the 2025 schedule.

The three losses, according to the FPI, come against Clemson, Ole Miss, and Alabama – all on the road.

Here's the FPI predictions:

Aug. 30: at Clemson – 46.2% chance to win
Sept. 6: vs. Louisiana Tech – 97.4%
Sept. 13: vs. Florida –57.5%
Sept. 20 vs. SE Louisiana – 99.0%
Sept. 27: at Ole Miss – 42.3%
Oct. 11: vs. South Carolina – 56.7%
Oct. 18: at Vanderbilt – 70.4%
Oct. 25: vs. Texas A&M – 54.4%
Nov. 8: at Alabama – 27.2%
Nov. 15: vs. Arkansas – 69.3%
Nov. 22: vs. Western Kentucky – 95.8%
Nov. 29: at Oklahoma – 54.9%

🔼 From Aggies, With Love. LSU men’s basketball coach Matt McMahon announced the addition of Vince Walden to his coaching staff for the 2025-26 season. Walden comes to LSU after a six-year stint at Texas A&M, serving as an assistant coach this past season.

Walden brings more than two decades of player development, recruiting and high-level program experience across college basketball and elite prep ranks.

The Aggies went to the NCAA Tournament each of the last three seasons with 20-plus wins each of the previous four years.

🔼 Full Steam Ahead 💨. FloTrack released the first edition of the 2025 college cross-country rankings. The LSU women open at No. 18 on the preseason list, while two Tigers are ranked in the top 50 individually.

These rankings are largely subjective, but they combine an analysis of championship experience, consistency, talent, and a bit of speculation to establish a 2025 list.

LSU’s women have yet to reach the NCAA Championships as a team, but there is much for expectations when it comes to this season’s additions.

Two Sleeps ‘Til Football! LSU claimed its 2️⃣nd national championship in college football in 2️⃣003, defeating the Oklahoma Sooners in the Sugar Bowl, although this was a split championship as USC was also recognized as a national champion that year. This was the second in the program's history, following the Tigers’ first title in 1958.
