🔼 Perfect Opening Weekend. LSU volleyball opened the season 2-0 at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, surviving a five-set thriller against Wake Forest on Friday before downing Incarnate Word 3-1 on Saturday. Jurnee Robinson was everywhere, matching a career-high 34 kills in the opener, including the match-clincher, and following it up with 22 kills, 14 digs, and six blocks against the Cardinals. Setter Takyla Brown posted double-doubles in both matches, setting career-highs in assists on Friday and digs on Saturday, while freshman libero Kiley Brooks logged 16 digs in each.

The Tigers head to Ann Arbor next for matches against Michigan and Michigan State on Sept. 1-2.

🔼 Road Draw. LSU soccer battled to a 1-1 draw with Arizona on Sunday afternoon at Sun Devil Soccer Stadium in Tempe. Ava Galligan put the Tigers on the board in the 43rd minute, finishing off an assist from Senai Rogers for her third goal of the season. Arizona answered in the 67th minute to level things up, and neither side could find a winner the rest of the way.

🔼 Loaded Freshman Class. LSU baseball has 10 players listed among Prep Baseball Report's Top 150 College Freshmen for the 2027 season, tying Tennessee and Texas for the most in the nation.

Left-handed pitcher Logan Schmidt leads the way at No. 7, followed by outfielder/first baseman Dominic Santarelli at No. 11 and outfielder/left-hander Lucas Nawrocki at No. 13. Schmidt was a second-round pick of the Cleveland Guardians in the 2026 MLB Draft and chose LSU instead, while Santarelli did the same after Seattle took him in the 18th round. The Tigers' incoming group is stacked from top to bottom.

🔼 Portal Power. Four LSU newcomers landed on D1Baseball.com's Top 50 Transfer Hitters list for the 2027 season, led by junior outfielder Bino Watters at No. 2. Watters arrives from Notre Dame, where he was a first-team All-ACC selection in 2026 after batting .362 with 18 doubles, 10 homers, and 51 RBI. Sophomore outfielder Angel Laya checks in at No. 14 following a season at Oregon that earned him First-Team Freshman All-Big 10 honors and Freshman All-American recognition from Perfect Game. Junior outfielder Jason Wachs (No. 29) and junior infielder Dawson Park (No. 49) round out the group.
