Lagniappe: Lane Kiffin Opens Fall Camp, Addresses Media (Aug. 5, 2026)

Live from the Team Room at Football Ops, LSU Football Head Coach Lane Kiffin meets with members of the media to recap the summer and preview the Tigers' preparation for the 2026 season.

🔼 Record-Setting Recognition. LSU tight end Trey'Dez Green is on the national radar! The junior was named to the preseason watch list for the Mackey Award, presented annually to college football's top tight end. Green, a first-team preseason Walter Camp All-America selection, holds the LSU record for career touchdown receptions by a tight end. His 2025 campaign featured a career-high eight catches for 119 yards and a touchdown against South Carolina, earning him John Mackey Award National Tight End of the Week honors!

🔼 Keep Watch. LSU offensive lineman Braelin Moore landed on the preseason watch list for the Rimington Trophy, which recognizes the top 40 centers in the nation.

🔼 Titans Collide. A blockbuster is coming to Nashville! LSU women's basketball will face UConn in the 2026 espnW Invitational on Sunday, Dec. 20 at Bridgestone Arena, marking the first meeting between the two powerhouse programs since 2016. The matchup pits head coach Kim Mulkey against Geno Auriemma, the sport's winningest active coaches by percentage, who have combined for 16 national championships. 🔼 Prime Time Tigers. LSU soccer will make two SEC Network appearances during the 2026 regular season, traveling to Texas A&M on Oct. 18 and hosting Mississippi State on Oct. 25, both at 2 p.m. CT. The Tigers' season opener at No. 18 Wake Forest on Aug. 12 will also air nationally on ACC Network.

🔼 Desert Showdowns. LSU men's basketball will play Arizona State and SMU at the Acrisure Series in Palm Springs over Thanksgiving. The Tigers face Arizona State on Nov. 25 at 1 p.m. CT and SMU on Nov. 26 at 6 p.m. CT, with both games at Acrisure Arena and televised on CBS Sports Network. LSU and SMU have met each of the last two seasons, with the Mustangs holding a 4-3 all-time series edge.

🔼 New Home. LSU Sports Network Radio shows have a new home base! Court To Table, Baton Rouge's premier pickleball and restaurant experience, will host the shows beginning with the debut of The Lane Kiffin Show on Thursday, Sept. 3, at 6 p.m. CT. Hosted by the Voice of the Tigers Chris Blair, the show airs on Eagle 98.1 FM and across the LSU Sports Radio Network. The six-acre destination features a full restaurant, sports bar, and 11 pickleball courts, and the show adds a new player interview segment hosted by former Tiger baseball player Will Hellmers!
