👕 GEAR UP FOR GAMEDAY

🔼 Tigers Take Gold. Two Tigers brought home gold on the final weekend of the Paris Olympics! Sha’Carri Richardson led the USA to gold in the women’s 4×100m relay. As the team was in third or fourth, Sha’Carri hit the gas and produced a 10.09s split.

Vernon Norwood also won gold over the weekend! He and the United States won the men’s 4×400m relay. He took the lead on his leg with a 43.30s split. This is his second career Olympic gold medal.

🔼  Made A Splash. Former LSU diver Chiara Pellacni represented Italy at the Olympics. She finished the three-meter springboard in fourth-place, just missing the podium. She earned a final score of 309.60. She also finished the three-meter synchronized dive in fourth.

🔼 Tee Time. Men’s golfer Algot Kleen will tee off at the U.S. Amateur today in Minnesota. He earned an exemption as one of the top 100 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings as he is ranked 60th. The rising senior will tee off on the 10th hole of the Hazeltine Golf Course at 7:33 a.m.

🔼  Mack Attack. LSU tight end Mason Taylor landed on the Mackey Award Preseason Watch List! The Mackey Award goes to the most outstanding tight end in college football. He has four career touchdowns and 762 receiving yards through his two seasons at LSU.
