Welcome to The Difference, LSU Football's weekly docuseries chronicling Year 1 of the Lane Kiffin era in Baton Rouge. Episode 1 takes viewers behind-the-scenes, featuring exclusive interviews with head coach Lane Kiffin and standout players, detailing the nine-month journey from spring ball, to fall camp, to Saturday's season opener against Clemson in Death Valley.

🔼 Forty Tigers, One Swoosh. LSU and Nike have expanded their Blue Ribbon Elite NIL program to 40 student-athletes across 14 different programs, up from the 10 who launched the partnership in Baton Rouge last December. This year's class features six returners from the inaugural group and 34 newcomers, spanning football, baseball, gymnastics, softball, basketball, and more. Eleven Tigers were featured on Nike's inaugural Blue Ribbon Elite Football roster in July, the largest football class of any school in the campaign.

🔼 Top 15. LSU men’s golf senior Jay Mendell opens the year at No. 14 in the initial PGA Tour University Class of 2027 rankings, released yesterday. The Louisiana native is coming off a junior season that earned him Golfweek All-American Honorable Mention. Mendell posted 25 rounds of par or better, a top-10 mark in program history for a single season. He tees it up this weekend to open his final collegiate campaign.

🔼 Tigers Headed To Hall. Six former Tigers highlight the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2027. Football greats Leonard Fournette and eight-time Pro Bowler Patrick Peterson lead the way, joined by baseball standouts Aaron Hill and Ryan Theriot, former LSU assistant baseball coach Jim Wells, and NFL Pro Bowler Henry Thomas. Peterson swept the Bednarik and Thorpe Awards in 2010, becoming the first LSU player to win both, while Fournette set school single-season records with 1,953 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns as a sophomore. The class will be enshrined June 24-26 in Natchitoches.

🔼 Tejedo Leads The Way. LSU women's golf opened the fall campaign at the Cougar Classic, with junior Rocio Tejedo pacing the Tigers with a top-15 finish at Yeamans Hall Club. Tejedo closed at even-par 213, highlighted by a second-round 65 that was her low collegiate round at LSU both in strokes and against par. Francesca Fiorellini was next in at 2-over 215, good for a tie for 27th. LSU finished 10th in the 18-team field and tied for seventh with 41 birdies. The Tigers return to action Sept. 21-23 at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic in Wolcott, Colorado.

🔼 Stellar Debut. LSU freshman Victoria Kristensen turned in a third-place finish at the Tulane Golf Classic in her first collegiate event, closing with a 5-under 67 at TPC Louisiana to jump five spots on the final leaderboard. The Denmark native rolled in five birdies over holes 10-18 to finish at 2-under 214, just two shots off the top spot and one of only four players in the 70-player field to post an under-par 54-hole total. Sophomore Lucia Iraola tied for sixth at 1-over 217 after an even-par 72 on Wednesday, ranking fourth in the field with 10 birdies.

🔼 SEC Slate Set. LSU softball's 2027 conference schedule is out, and it features eight three-game series totaling 24 league games. The Tigers open on the road at Kentucky March 19-21 before their conference home opener against Tennessee at Tiger Park March 26-28. Arkansas, Texas, and Georgia also make trips to Baton Rouge, while LSU travels to Florida, Oklahoma, and Alabama. The 2027 SEC Tournament heads to Toyota Field in Madison, Ala., from May 11-15 for the league's first neutral-site conference tournament since 2002.
