Sylvia Fowles is getting a statue on LSU's campus, becoming just the second female student-athlete in school history to receive the honor. The two-time All-America center led the Tigers to four consecutive Final Four appearances from 2005 through 2008 and swept National Defensive Player of the Year and SEC Player of the Year honors as a senior. She still holds LSU career records for rebounds, blocked shots, and free throws made. Fowles will join Seimone Augustus, Bob Pettit, Shaquille O'Neal, and Pete Maravich with basketball statues outside the Maravich Center. A date for the unveiling will be announced later.

LSU Football returns to Death Valley after an impressive season-opening victory. The Tigers held Louisiana Tech to -4 yards rushing, forced three takeaways and got three sacks from Princewill Umanmielen en route to another dominant defensive effort on Saturday night.

🔼 Wide Open Competition. LSU baseball's 2027 roster is out, and it comes with 22 newcomers: eight Division I transfers and 14 high school signees. Ten of those rookies rank among Prep Baseball's Top 150 College Freshmen, with seven more appearing on D1 Baseball's Top College Transfers list. The Tigers bring back eight position players with starting experience and eight pitchers who have logged innings in Baton Rouge. Full-squad fall practice begins Oct. 8, with four exhibition games on the calendar: two against Samford in Biloxi and two at Alex Box Stadium against Troy and Southeastern Louisiana.

🔼 Wrapping Up Non-Con. LSU volleyball closes out its non-conference slate at the Canes Classic in Coral Gables, facing host Miami tonight at 5:30 p.m. CT and Tulsa on Friday at 3 p.m. CT. The Tigers roll in on back-to-back sweeps, with a defense that ranks second in the SEC at 14.63 digs per set and has posted double-digit blocks in five of seven matches. 🔼 Packed Slate Ahead. LSU women's tennis’ fall schedule is here! The Tigers start at the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic in Montgomery before heading to the ITA All-American Championships in Cary, N.C. LSU hosts the ITA Southern Regional Championship at the LSU Tennis Complex Oct. 8-12, then hits the Battle for the Boot JAE Foundation Open in Fort Worth and the Rome Collegiate Invitational. Mixed in are more than a dozen ITF professional tournaments stretching from Berkeley to Toronto. The fall wraps at the NCAA Individual Championships in Athens, Ga., Nov. 17-22.

🔼 Fall Ball, Free Admission. LSU softball's fall slate is out, featuring eight games with six at Tiger Park, and every one of them is free to get into. The Tigers open Thursday, Oct. 15 against Northwestern State before heading to Orange Beach for a pair against Florida State on Oct. 24-25. The rest of the fall plays out at home, including a Nov. 1 doubleheader against Belhaven and Northwest Florida State. The annual Purple/Gold World Series wraps things up Nov. 17-19.
