Bayou Brew 9/2: LSU Football's One-Two Punch
Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier and center Braelin Moore picked up SEC Player of the Week honors for their efforts in LSU’s 17-10 win over No. 4 Clemson.
One down, LSU Fam. Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier and center Braelin Moore picked up SEC Player of the Week honors for their efforts in LSU’s 17-10 win over No. 4 Clemson on Saturday.
Nussmeier was named SEC Offensive Player of the Week, while Moore earned SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week recognition. The honor is the third for Nussmeier.
Against Clemson, Nussmeier completed 28-of-38 passes for 232 yards and a touchdown in leading the Tigers to the comeback road win. In his first game at LSU after transferring from Virginia Tech, Moore was the catalyst for an offensive line that limited Clemson’s highly touted defensive front to only one sack.

Catch the first episode of LSU’s Football’s exclusive docuseries, “The Path,” on Tuesday night, recapping the Tigers’ big win over No. 4 Clemson. You’re not going to want to miss it!

Your YETI Game Changer of the Week is LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, who just claimed the SEC Offensive Player of the Week honors after securing the same weekly award last year for his play in wins over UCLA and Ole Miss.
On top of completing 28-of-38 passes for 232 yards and a touchdown in the season-opening win over Clemson, Nussmeier also rushed for a pair of first downs. The signal-caller was instrumental in landing the victory over a Top 4-ranked team in a true road game for only the fifth time in program history.

🔼 Let’s Hit ‘Em in the Numbers. Statistically speaking, the LSU Tiger football team rocked it on Saturday. It’s no surprise that, in ESPN's Heather Dinich's predictions of what the selection committee's top 12 would look like if it were released today, LSU would be the top seed.
And, despite the naysayers, the G.O.A.T. Lee Corso knew the truth the whole time:
