🔼 Best In The Boot. Yesterday, we told you that Paul Byrd was getting inducted into the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame this weekend. Today, we’re telling you three more legendary Tigers are joining him. The 2023 Induction Celebration is running July 27-29 and you can get tickets at LaSportsHall.com.

🏆 Paul Mainieri: The head LSU baseball coach that won 31 team championships and a national title in 15 years of coaching will join Louisiana’s best in the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame. The Tigers won the 2009 National Championship, 9 NCAA Regional titles, 5 NCAA Super Regional championships, 4 SEC championships, 6 SEC Tournament titles, and 6 SEC Western Division crowns under Coach Mainieri.

🏆 Walter Davis: The LSU track & field legend, plus two-time Olympian, will be joining the LSU crew in the Hall of Fame. He led the Tigers to two national titles in just two seasons. He held a 17-0 record in the triple jump throughout his time at LSU. He then earned a spot on Team USA for the 2000 & 2004 Olympics.

🏆 Wendell Davis: The two-time All-American receiver and 1987 SEC Player of the Year will be honored in the Hall of Fame. He finished his LSU career with three touchdown catches and the MVP award of the 1987 Gator Bowl. He holds the school record for career receptions with 183. After college, he had five great seasons with the Chicago Bears, before suffering two torn patellar tendons in his sixth season.

🔼 Tigers After Two. Looking for an update on our Tigers at the European Ladies’ Amateur Championship after the first two rounds? Look no further! Ingrid Lindblad sits alone in second-place with a -4 score. Carla Tejedo is right behind her tied for third with a -3 score. Edit Hertzman is tied for 28th and Aine Donegan is tied for 35th.

⛳️ Taylor Riley is moving on to the quarterfinals of the California Amateur after a 4&3 score in yesterday’s round of 16.

🔼 Hardware For Hayden. LSU baseball’s Hayden Travinski was named the 2023 Carl Mikovich Sportsperson of the Year by the Independence Bowl Foundation. This award highlights some of the greatest local athletes. Hayden finished the National Championship season with a .356 batting average, 10 home runs, and 30 RBIs. He’ll receive the award at the 47th Independence Bowl in Shreveport on December 16.
