Spring Football. Missing spring football already? We have you covered on LSU Gold! Tune into spring practice from days before the Spring Game as Coach Kelly develops this young roster.
🔼 Back At “The Box.” LSU baseball remains the No. 1 team in the country and they’re back at home tonight, hosting Nicholls. The Tigers went 3-1 last week and swept conference foe, Ole Miss. The pitching staff had a great weekend on the mound with many personal bests. Ty Floyd tied his career-high throwing 8 strikeouts, Gavin Guidry earned his first career save, and Christian Little had his best performance on Sunday. LSU is on a 4 game win-streak over the Colonels and beat them 12-2 just a few weeks ago.
🔼 Major Success. Tigers in the MLB have been producing success lately. The Houston Astro Alex Bregman recorded his 500th career RBI on Sunday in their sweep over Atlanta. Kevin Gausman had a fantastic outing for the Blue Jays over the weekend, throwing 11 strikeouts in 7 innings and allowing zero runs.
🔼 Hall Of Fame. Former Tiger track star Muna Lee was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame over the weekend. She joined the Tigers in 2001 and became the most decorated athlete in LSU track and field history. She was a 7-time NCAA champion and 20-time All-American. She now coaches at Tennessee State.
🔼 Nine To Five. Both men and women track and field teams came in at No. 5 in this week’s USTFCCCA polls. The women stayed at their previous ranking and the men moved up four spots from No. 9. LSU is the only school in the nation with both teams ranking in the top-10 this week. The Tigers have 17 marks inside the top-10 of the national rankings this season. LSU hosts the LSU Invitational this Saturday at 10:00am.
Major Leaguer. Alex Bregman has made a name for himself by becoming one of the best in the MLB.
