🔼 Remembering A Legend. Last week, LSU Hall of Famer Joe Tuminello passed away at the age of 90. He was a football standout on both sides of the ball in the 1950’s and even helped coach the undefeated freshman team after his playing time in 1956. He earned three All-SEC honors from 1952-1955 and was team captain for Paul Dietzel’s first LSU team. After his time at LSU, he went on to coach high school football and later became a principal and personnel director for the St. Landry Parish School District.

🔼 Preseason Preview. There’s no doubt that the first game of the football season has been circled since last year, when Florida State beat the Tigers by just one point. This year, the Tigers are headed to Orlando for revenge at the Camping World Kickoff. Jayden Daniels and FSU quarterback Jordan Travis will be playing a tie-breaker, as the two are 1-1 against each other. There are just 44 days until kickoff and the game will be live on ABC at 6:30pm CT.

🔼 Burn, Baby, Burn. LSU golf great Sam Burns is playing in the 151st Open Championship this weekend in Liverpool. The prestigious tournament is one of professional golf’s grand slam events. This is his third appearance at The Open, last year he finished 42nd overall. Sam won the Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year award in 2017 at LSU and was also the SEC Player of the Year.
