🔼 Tamed The ‘Cats. Buzzer beaters, court storms, and a ranked win — oh my! The Tigers were the more dominant cat last night in a thrilling 75-74 win over No. 17 Kentucky. LSU was down by 15 at one point, and then the comeback was on. The game became a back-and-forth battle until the final second. Jordan Wright’s shot was blocked, he rebounded it, threw it up to Tyrell Ward, and the rest was history. Tyrell set a career-high for the second-straight game with 17 points.

🔼 Simply The Best. Women’s basketball head coach Kim Mulkey was named to the Naismith Coach of the Year Late Season Watchlist this week! She’s led the Tigers to a 22-4 record so far and they’re ranked No. 13 nationally. She has won at least 20 games every year of her head coaching career. The Tigers lead the nation in rebounding and getting to the foul line. They’re No. 2 in scoring offense and No. 11 with a .481 shooting percentage. LSU is the only SEC team averaging more than 7,000 fans per road game and they’re No. 2 in average home attendance.

🏀 The women’s basketball team plays Auburn at 8 pm tonight. The game will be the LSU’s annual Turner Syndrome awareness game, where they’ll help raise money and honor survivors. Hear Coach Mulkey and her family’s story connected to Turner Syndrome. Get your tickets here

🔼 Seniority. Gymnast Haleigh Bryant has been nominated for the 2024 AAI Award, which goes to the top senior gymnast in the country. She continues to write her name in LSU record books, including 13 perfect scores in her career — the most by any gymnast in LSU history. She’s sixth all-time in school history with 75 total individual titles. In the classroom, she’s a two-time Scholastic All-American and three-time SEC Academic Honor Roll member.

🔼 Tiger Classic Time. The sixth-ranked LSU softball team is home for the weekend, hosting the 2024 Tiger Classic! Today, they’ll take on Boise State at 6 pm. Tomorrow, they’ll play Boise State again and Houston afterwards. They’ll close out the weekend on Saturday against Houston and Austin Peay. All of the games will stream on SEC Network+.

🔼  Back On Top. The Tigers are having some success at the SEC Swimming and Diving Championship! Montserrat Gutierrez Lavenant won her second career SEC title, winning the three-meter springboard. The Tigers cheered her on the entire way. This is the first time in women’s program history that an athlete has won back-to-back SEC Championships since 1991-92.
