Good morning. The magic was in the air last night in Omaha when the LSU bats got hot. Don’t get too comfortable though, we have more baseball tonight!

🔼 Callin’ Omaha. The Tigers win again! LSU forced the “if necessary” game last night with a 5-2 win over Wake Forest. The lefties took over the mound for the second night in a row with Griffin Herring throwing 4.2 scoreless innings with six strikeouts. Then, Riley Cooper shut it down again allowing no runs, no hits, and two strikeouts while earning his third save of the College World Series.

🎥 Belly Bomb. Cade Beloso knocked a 3-run homer out of the park to break the tie in the third inning. The scoring ended for both teams after that.

🔜 Up Next. The Tigers will play Wake Forest again tonight at 6:00pm CT on ESPN2.

🔼 Eight Is Great. Eight LSU softball players were named to the 2023 Louisiana Sports Writers Association’s All-Louisiana College Softball Team. Sydney Berzon, Ciara Briggs, Georgia Clark, Danieca Coffey, Ali Newland, and Taylor Pleasants were all earned first-team status. Ali Kilponen and McKenzie Redoutey earned second-team.

🔼 Rise Above. Ten female track and field athletes were selected as semifinalists for The Bowerman Award, and Michaela Rose is one of them! She was just crowned the NCAA women’s 800m outdoor national champion a few weeks ago. She led the Tigers in points at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

🔼 Vegas, Baby. The women’s basketball team will be making their way to Las Vegas to open the season at the Hall of Fame Series. They’ll be playing Colorado on November 6 in T-Mobile Arena. The Buffs made it to the Sweet 16 last year before losing to LSU’s championship opponent, Iowa.

🔼 Best In The Bizz. The LSU women’s basketball team and Angel Reese were both nominated for ESPY Awards! The team received nomination for best team and Angel is nominated for best breakthrough athlete. The ESPY Awards will be on ABC July 12 at 7:00pm CT.

Shut ‘Em Down. The Tigers beat Tennessee 5-0 on Tuesday night.
