Bayou Brew 6/29: Celebrate Good Times
Today, we're (still) celebrating baseball and we have plenty of basketball news for you.
Good morning. Feeling a little tired this morning? Jay Johnson expressing his love for Louisiana may wake you up. Or Tre’ Morgan, or Tommy White.
What all can you find in today's Brew?
⚾️ Celebrate good times
🏀 ACC/SEC Challenge opponents
🐯 And much, much more!
Relive The Moment. Sadly, we’re already three days deprived of college baseball. If you’re missing it already, have no fear: episodes of Uncut are here!

🔼 Celebrate Good Times. LSU knows how to throw a championship party at this point. Good times were had last night at Alex Box Stadium to celebrate the National Champions.
👀 Most Popular. All eyes were on LSU over the weekend, making this the most-watched Men’s College World Series. The most viewers tuned in for game three with over 3.586 million watching and peak viewership hit 4.2 million.
📸 Seven rings, one photo. See Skip Bertman, Paul Mainieri, and Jay Johnson at the celebration.
📸 There’s nobody better than Paul Skenes on the mound and in the dugout. When he’s not winning the Dick Howser Award, the Most Outstanding Player of the CWS award, and breaking SEC strikeout records he’s carrying his teammate who couldn’t walk to the dog-pile!
🔼 Did Someone Say Rematch? The ACC/SEC Challenge schedules have been released and LSU women’s basketball will be having a Final Four rematch. The Tigers will host Virginia Tech on November 30. The Tigers beat the Hokies in the Final Four after a comeback win to clinch a spot in the national championship game.
🔼 Big Apple Bound. The men’s basketball team will be heading to Syracuse for the ACC/SEC Challenge on November 28 at JMA Wireless Dome. The two were supposed to play each other in 2020 at Madison Square Garden, but we all know what happened that year… Anyways, they’ll get their chance on the big stage this year!
🔼 SEC, SEC, SEC. Back to our own conference, the women’s basketball SEC schedule has been released! Dates, times, and TV information will be released later, but for now, here are our opponents:
🏠 PMAC Power. The headliner of the schedule is South Carolina coming to Baton Rouge. The Tigers have finished second in conference, right behind South Carolina, for the last two seasons. Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, Missouri, and Texas A&M will be coming to the PMAC as well.
🛫 Up, Up, And Away. The Tigers will hit the road to play Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Vanderbilt.
Looking Back. LSU has only played Syracuse one time in men’s basketball.
Do you know what year that was?
