State Of The Program. As LSU Baseball prepares for Opening Day of the 2024 season, Emily Dixon sits down with Head Coach Jay Johnson to find out what separates this team from last year's Champions, how the Tigers plan to attack the upcoming season and what it's like to have the advantage of the greatest fans in college baseball. 🔼 Clear Eyes. The softball team is starting their weekend today at the Shriners Children’s Clearwater Invitational! They’ll face five teams, three of which are nationally ranked. They’ll start things off at 1 pm when they take on Georgia Tech on ACC Network. The Tigers put on a pitching clinic last weekend with five complete game shutouts by five different pitchers. They’ll be chasing the same success against some of the best teams in the country.

🔼 Freshman Phenom. After winning his first individual collegiate title, Jay Mendell was named the SEC Freshman of the Week! He finished the Hal Williams Collegiate with a final score of 10-under par. The freshman jumped from No. 311 to No. 194 in the recent scoreboard rankings.
