Good morning. Happy Hump Day! Some good news for your Wednesday morning — Coach Jay Johnson has received yet another National Coach of the Year award, this one by D1 Baseball. This is his third Coach of the Year honor this year.

🔼 Geaux For Gold. Former LSU soccer star Allysha Chapman is chasing a gold medal with Canada at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup this week. Canada tied with Nigeria in their first game of the World Cup and continue their journey this morning at 7:00am CT against the Republic of Ireland. Allysha and Canada won a gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and a bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics. She played at LSU from 2009 to 2011 when she became one of the most decorated defenders in the history of the program.
🔼 Back In The Boot. Former LSU Tiger and New Orleans native Trai Turner is coming home! The New Orleans Saints signed the former Pro Bowl guard to a one-year deal yesterday. Trai is a nine-year NFL veteran who was drafted in the third round of the 2014 NFL draft by the Carolina Panthers. He was selected for five straight Pro Bowls and has had stints with the Panthers, Los Angeles Chargers, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Washington Commanders.
🔼 Queens Of The Boot. Kim Mulkey & Co. took over the All-Louisiana Women’s Basketball Team, but who’s surprised? They’re National Champions!

🏆 Freshman of the Year: Flau’jae Johnson
🏆 Coach of the Year: Kim Mulkey

Coach Sian Hudson was named the LSU soccer coach in December of 2019.
