🔼 Battling The Bruins. The LSU volleyball team is kicking off the season this weekend as they host UCLA in the Tiger Classic. The Tigers were picked to finish sixth in the SEC Preseason Coaches’ Poll and Anita Anwusi and Sanaa Dotson were named 2023 Preseason All-SEC. The first game is tonight at 6:30pm and the first 250 students will receive free Whataburger! Game two is tomorrow at 5:00pm and the first 250 fans will get an LSU Volleyball Prowl t-shirt. You can buy tickets here. If you can’t make it, both matches will be streamed on SEC Network+.

🔼  Messed With Texas. The Tigers defeated No. 9 Texas in Austin last night, 3-1. A goal by Taylor Dobles gave the Tigers the lead that was doubled by Ida Hermannsdittir. It was the first ranked victory for LSU since defeating No. 4 Arkansas in 2021. The Tigers will be back in action Sunday at 6:00pm as they host the Southern Jaguars.

🔼 Two In One. Former LSU track star Sha’Carri Richardson is headed to her second World Championship final of the week. She qualified after clocking a 22.20 200m time in the semifinal yesterday. Current LSU track runner Favour Ofili finished 18th overall with a 22.86 time in the same event. Sha’Carri will run in the final this afternoon at 1:25pm CT.

🔼 Mondo’s The Man. Former Tiger superstar Mondo Duplantis will be participating in the World Championship pole vault final tomorrow afternoon at 12:25pm CT. He cleared 5.55m, 5.70m, and 5.75m in one attempt each to advance.

🔼 Burns, Baby, Burns. Former LSU star Sam Burns tee’d off at the Tour Championship in Atlanta, Georgia yesterday. He sits tied for 17th going into day two. The championship wraps up the 2022-23 PGA tour season and the winner will be crowned with the FedEx Cup. The Tour Championship will be aired daily on the Golf Channel, Peacock, CBS, and ESPN+.
