The Powerhouse. Through early-season adversity, Coach Johnson has emphasized the importance of taking baseball game-by-game, and pitch-by-pitch. Senior right-handed pitcher Will Hellmers knows this to be true. His pregame hype speeches are a hallmark of the program, and there’s no one better suited to give them than Wild Bill.

The beam team delivered the highest score in program history and an NCAA Championship record 49.7625 in the final rotation. Aleah Finnegan was the last performance for the Tigers and she scored a stunning 9.95 on beam to lift the team to a championship. Haleigh Bryant was once again the all-around champion.

🔼 Comin’ Home Happy. LSU baseball got the series win at Missouri over the weekend with wins on Friday and Sunday. LSU run-ruled the other Tigers 12-1 in the series opener. Gage Jump threw a career-high 14 strikeouts and the offense launched four home runs. Hayden Travinski hit a homer and brought in four RBI. Jared Jones, Steven Milam, and Brady Neal also hit home runs. Missouri evened the series on Saturday, but LSU came out swinging on Sunday to win 6-2. Griffin Herring entered a tied ballgame and went on to throw five scoreless innings in relief. Paxton Kling and Michael Braswell III drove in two runs a piece. The Tigers will be back home to host Nicholls tomorrow.

🔼 Set The Record Straight. LSU softball head coach Coach Beth Torina became the winningest coach in program history in Saturday’s 1-0 shutout win at No. 4 Tennessee. The win was number 527 for the head coach. Raeleen Gutierrez scored the lone run with her solo home run to right field. Kelley Lynch threw her second-straight shutout. Saturday’s win was the Tigers’ lone win of the weekend as they fell 3-0 on Sunday.

🔼 Nine Is Fine. The 10th-ranked beach volleyball team capped the regular season with nine-straight wins. They went 4-0 at the Palmetto Invitational over the weekend with wins over Coastal Carolina, South Carolina, Jacksonville, and GCU.
