LSU baseball lost some star power to the MLB Draft, but they reloaded through freshmen and the portal, which landed the squad at No. 5 in the 2023 Collegiate Baseball magazine recruiting ranking. There are 20 newcomers that have joined the team this fall, including 13 freshmen, 6 DI transfers, and one junior college transfer. The new Tigers have been working out with the vets and we’ll see them in the first full-squad practice on Oct. 5.

Meet Corey Chest. We’re less than 40 days away from LSU basketball! Today, we’re introducing you to newcomer Corey Chest. He’s a New Orleans native who was a high school national champion at The Link Academy in Missouri. He was listed as the No. 1 player in Louisiana at the end of the 2022 basketball season, and the No. 2 player in Missouri. He’s back home in the Boot to make an impact on his state.
