As SEC play begins, the distractions only get louder. To win requires focus, and no player is more suited to canceling out the noise than quarterback Jayden Daniels. The Tigers’ calm, cool, and collected quarterback leads his team into Starkville, determined to silence the bells and make a statement to the rest of the conference.

Hearing Voices. On this week's edition of Hearing Voices, Chris Blair travels to Fayetteville to visit with Chuck Barrett, the Voice of the Arkansas Razorbacks. The guys preview Saturday's showdown between the Tigers and the Hogs, talk matchups, and keys to victory in the Battle for the Boot.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Hog Huntin’. It’s time to keep the Golden Boot in Baton Rouge, where it belongs. The Tigers host Arkansas tomorrow night at 6:00pm in the Battle for the Boot. The history between these two teams goes way back — the SEC West rivals used to play the day after Thanksgiving, now they’re playing the earliest in the season they ever have. The Boot is the heaviest trophy in college football, standing 4-feet tall and weighing 200lbs of 24k gold.

Both teams sit 2-1 going into this weekend. Jayden Daniels was named the Manning Award Quarterback of the Week after his performance against Mississippi State. Commentators Kirk Herbstreit and Chris Fowler will have the call on ESPN. Guest captains for the game will be Tommy Hodson and Bradie James.

🎟 Tickets

🔼 ComebackSzn. The soccer team got their first SEC win in exhilarating fashion at No. 22 Georgia! The Tigers were down 0-2 until the 74th minute. Mollee Swift got the Tigers on the scoreboard with a shot from the penalty spot. Two minutes went by and Rammie Noel tied it up! Sage Glover let loose in the 84th minute to put LSU up 3-2. The Tigers will be back at home on Sunday for the SEC home opener against Mississippi State at 6pm.

🔼 Tigers Face The ‘Cats. LSU volleyball is starting SEC play tonight at Kentucky. This is the second-straight year the Tigers have been the Wildcats’ SEC home opening opponent. Last year, LSU upset No. 15 Kentucky in five sets. The Tigers sit at 5-5 after their stacked non-conference slate. They’ve compiled 13.19 kills per set on 12.35 assists per set. Jurnee Robinson has been outstanding, leading the team with 159 total kills and 4.74 points per set. The match begins tonight at 6:00pm on SEC Network+.

🔼  Hall of Famers. The 2023 LSU Athletics Hall of Fame Induction will take place tonight at 6:30pm at the Manship Theater in downtown Baton Rouge. Members of the 2023 class are LSU legends Karen Bahnsen, Al Coffee, Megan Falcon, Jim Hawthorne, Nyla Sheperd Moore, Danyel Mitchell, and Dr. Sam Nader.

🔼 Built The Statue. When great success is had, fans will often say, “build the statue!” Well, Louisiana Tech did. Coach Kim Mulkey had her bronze statue unveiled at Louisiana Tech, where she was a star point guard before joining the staff as an instrumental assistant coach for 15 seasons. Her statue stands next to some great athletes, including Terry Bradshaw and Karl Malone. Coach Mulkey is the most successful player-turned-coach in basketball history, claiming national titles as a player, assistant, and head coach.

🎥 MEET THE NEWCOMER

Meet Mikaylah Williams. Today, we’re introducing you to women’s basketball freshman, Mikaylah Williams! The Louisiana native is from Bossier City and decided to stay home and play for Coach Mulkey. She was the No. 1 ranked player in her class, two-time Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year, and a state champion. She also played in the McDonald’s All-America Game, was named the 2023 Morgan Wooten National Player of the Year, USA Basketball 3×3 Athlete of the Year, the list goes on and on.
